how much is the 160GB supposed to be detected anyway ?
In BIOS hardrive detection settings, try changing the access mode to "LBA mode". And repartition your drive using NTFS File System.
i think there's a registry setting na ma-download gikan sa seagate site. dili ko sure pero i think its about LBA also.

EarlZ is correct regarding this thread. Naa difference from what the drive is supposed to have. This is due to the bitcount to a byte in computer storage terms. I'm not sure if that's exactly it. Ask a computer engineer why this is so. As for me, what I understood is the computation of the bits. Something about about 1 byte is actually 1024 and not 1000 as you would expect.
So it should be something like 160gb / 1024 = 156gb - minus the size of the partition table pa. And here's another thing to note: The larger your drive, the larger the partition table it will take on it.
In my case, I have a 200gb hard drive but only 190 is actually ever displayed. So, that's 200gb / 1024 yields roughly 195gb. Minus the partition table pa. So i'd probably say around 180gb or so.
This has COMPLETELY nothing to do with LBA support.
@tokidoki
100% correct, unless the motherboard it self was produced in 1999 or 2000 for not having a support on that size of HD's.
I think its windows that doing 1k bits as the counting and on hardware its 1024.
