pain, if you're going to start an aro community tank, what are the minimum sizes of the aros to be able to successfully accimilate them in the tank and for them to get used to each other?

the bigger the better as they say, just always remember length is more important than height for Aros; for them to stretch their long bodies freely.
if you have limited space, you should consider a good air ventilation to support a crowded tank. Or separate them into two groups in a different tank (f nay xtra aquarium).
Reminder: you will need to put them by group (4 and up) to avoid fatal and territorial fight.
to shipped an Aro, you will need to put it in a big plastic bag (polyester/transparent kind) not in the tank.
open it widely so that the Aro can get-in, and pls do not force it to get-in or try to catch it by hands, you dont want it to jump out and injure it self do you?
other option is to use a fish Stabilizer, to calm down your Aro while your moving them.
if the destination is far, you should consider using a battery operated air pumps for the oxygen.

first of all, u have a very nice pond Androx! ^^
since this is a pond and we cannot move it to other location (to prevent a direct sunlight).
here's some tips aside of using uv rays, do the basic, buy a Janitor fish. ^^
that's for "planted" algaes, second would be a chemical treatment for the "floating" algaes.
but you will need a good filtration flow in using an algaecides, to get rid of the dead algae's.
Note: read the labels/cautions before applying.
other options would be a planted plants "anacharis" or adding a beneficial bacterias (StressZyme) or Barley Straw (xtract or straw).
For the Malaysian Aro, i would recommend the pipers petshop (guaranteed captive bred Aros) w/ cert.
^^
