When You Apply for a Credit Card, Do Banks Actually Check the Total Tax You Paid?

Since they will ask for a TIN number... or do they ask just to be safe that you are paying taxes(without them actually checking)?

Just wondering. Cuz just got my TIN recently and wanna apply for a credit card.

That is one way also of verifying your gross income(through BIR form 2306).......

Form 2306? They will merely ask the number. So they go to BIR and check it?

not really..its just a supporting proof that you're employed and you're capable of paying in case they'll grant you a credit card..Most credit card companies esp the big ones have some minimum requirement on gross income....Thats why my agent ask for my form 2306 aside from COE and payroll card so as to expedite the processing and approval of my credit card...
