Sa balay 2 ako pc, ang isa kay smart wifi/BRO, ang isa kay globelines broadband, layo ra kaayo ang ila speed. Line-of-site ra gani ko sa cellsite sa smart.. dili sa pagda-ot sa smart, but para maka sulit ka sa imung kwarta. pag smartBRO lang kong wala gyud ka lain choice kay walay available sa inyo nga line sa globe or pldt..

naa man sad koy nabatian nga mga negative comment sa Globlines Broadband like sa among office sa una Globe man mi nya cge daw kaputol ang connection..mao na karon na PLDT DSL nami... ing-ana sad ang reklamo sa Internet Cafe na dapit sa amoa (Private)!

Just got some extensive info about the access point/antenna combo that smart bro uses its actually an 802.11 100milliwatt wifi antenna and access point in one package made by canopy. Now there is nothing wrong with using these kinds of combo antenna/access point the problem is there is a design flaw with the canopy antenna/AP where the access point freezes humanana dili na ka ka-upload/download or ping kay ni freeze na man, now it may be the chipset is overly sensitive or something else however i've found out from some of my knowledgeable wifi group nga ang remedy daw is to separate the antenna from the access point because ingon sila nga wala daw proper rf shielding ang access point so ni gamit silag pigtail para ma saka gamay ang antenna from the access point.

P.S. what you actually see nga connecting rj45 box near your computer is actually a POE (Power over Ethernet) injector, its job is to "inject" DC power using your spare pair strand sa utp cable going to the access point sa imong poste so thats why wala ka kita ug power extension cord going to your antenna/accesspoint gi split lang ang imong data lines ug "power" lines inig abot na sa imong rj45 jack. Thats why the smart customer service number one remedy when mo freeze is to unplug then plug the rj45 going to the antenna tungod ma putol man ang power sa access point and ma reboot man siya Hope naka tabang ni.

P.P.S by the way all the wireless internet provider in cebu are using 802.11 wifi spec that includes dominion wireless, smart bro, etc.

ang nag lahi lang is kanang gprs/edge nga ingon sila wireless broadband pero its not a true wifi 802.11 spec is kanang pldt weroam, globe hi speed wireless internet 3G. :mrgreen:
