if you breed a dog with known genetic defect, irregardless if he is a pure breed or a mixed one, there's a big chance that that same genetic problem will be passed-on to his/her offspring.
passing genetic traits (good or bad) is not diminished if one is a pure breed or a mixed one. i may be wrong, but thats how i understand it.
