another example of false information fueled by discrimination.. what tunnels are you talking about?

it's the big articulated tractor/trailer trucks which are heavily banned on tunnels worldwide, not MC's

in 1st World countries (US, Europe Asia), the only time when MC's are banned from using tunnels is when the wind picks up to more than 80kph as it gets very precarious to balance MC's with those wind speeds especially in tunnels where winds can be amplified due to the funneling of the walls

alternate route or no alternate route, the issue here is public conveyance, of which road infrastructure was supposed to be built for

I'm sorry if I can't be specific on which tunnels but I was in Korea last May and there were indeed tunnels and highways where Motorcycles aren't allowed. And no, don't ask me for pictures. Why would I take pictures of road signs.

You're just being emotional. Banned or not, move on. Like I said, it's not like it will hinder you from reaching your destination.

If Cebu City Councilor Roberto “Bob” Cabarrubias will have his way, pedestrians and motorcycles will not be allowed to use the newly opened tunnel under the Plaza Independencia.

The tunnel connects the South Coastal Road to McArthur Boulevard, Cebu City and was opened to traffic early this month. As of now, the public works department bans heavy vehicles like cargo trucks from the tunnel.

Cabarrubias said that he wants to prevent accidents involving persons riding motorcycles and pedestrians in the tunnel.

Why all the anti-bike sentiment from a Govt dept which should recognize that motorcycles are the good guys not the bad guys in terms of both pollution and efficient transit. If they are claiming that safety is the issue then please present the data to support this otherwise it just looks like yet another case of discrimination from SUV driving policy-makers who care not one iota for the ordinary road users.
