Hi istoryahans, ask lng ko sa inyo og guide labi na jud sa mga kaila na jud kaayo sa mga Pure Breeds ug mga dog lovers.
Ganahan ko mo buy og Dog but im not really familiar about pure breed and how to take care of them and how to start..
i want to buy either Lab or GSD.
Before ko buy gai please og unsay angay..

boss research sa internet regarding unsa nga breed imo nahan din check ang physical appearance like teeth, body og 1st approach nimo if friendly or naughty ba..
unsa man diay imo nahan nga breed?

buy ka sa klaro o sikat nga breeder bro if dili pa kaayo ka sweto..oldo mahal pero klaro man..or pakuyog langka imu frend nga sweto bro..asa imu location bro..daghan sad mga istoryan breeder lab ug gsd bro..ask lang guidance nila..tan awa na sa thread sa gsd o sa lab kanang mga active sa forum maka help na sila..

I learned a lot from that thread and also search sa temperament og dapat nga itsura sa lab..
Sakto kaayo ni imo gbuhat kai ako I learned it the hard way....

Anyway daghan kaaeo articles sa google even just by typing labrador, makita nmo almost sa tanan site kng nsa dapat form and etc sa lab.

Regarding sa choices between a LABRADOR RETRIEVER and the GERMAN SHEPERD DOG ...

- how much money you want to spend for a puppy ?

- GSD and LABS are expensive if you prefer the pedigreed / papered ones
- GSD and LABS are cheaper if non papered but walay assurance since dili masubay ang lineage niya if pure ba indeed or dili . I have seen a GSD na mas typically dako pa siya sa regular na pure GSD but raza ra diay .
- There are 2 GSD's also , the showtype and the working line . The WORKING LINE as the name implies works but no offense to working line owners , you really cant appreciate its physique wile on the otherhand , the showtypes is the best of both worlds . They cna project beauty and works like a working line . ANyways ... dako man na siya na issue between AMERICAN and GERMAN breeders so di na lang ta mo abot ana na point , sa Philippine setting lang ta .

- would you prefer for a male or female ?

- Mas dako ka ug responsibility sooner or later if you opt for a female since you keep the puppies unless you will end up also being a responsible breeder pod .

- do you have ample space in your place like a backyard ?

- GSD and LABS loves to run and play . Even if naa ka cage , it is still very important to let them loose for a couple of hours a day aron maka excercise , stretch and develop their flexibility .

- do you have spare time to walk the dogs ?

- Having a GSD or a LAB for the sake of owning one is really not HUMANE . You have to routinely and religiously walk and play with them to establish bonding and when you establish that , that is where you get to appreciate your companion .

- what do you prefer other than companionship , a family dog or a guard/family dog ?

- LABS are definitely a FAMILY DOG . It is family oriented and belongs to the group of SPORTING DOGS . On the other hand , the GSD is also the same and belongs to the HERDING DOGS but we all know that we dont hunt here in the Philippines and bring our retrievers or use a GSD to herd or farm animals . Mao mo boil down siya as a FAMILY DOG and LAB or a GUARD DOG / FAMILY DOG ang GSD ang choices nimo .

- can you spare extra money for vitamins , supplements , grooming , vaccinations , dog food ( in some cases if di sila uyon sa dog food ... you will end up with RAW / fit for human consumption food which is more expensive )and the VETS services

- Mo abot ang time they will get sick or lose weight , you need to have money for it otherwise , nasa huli ang pagsisi hehehe .

Hope this helps and I know many more can add up to this and lastly ... its important to know breeders na naay excellent TEMPERAMENT ang mga parents sa pups . These were my guidelines when I acquired a GSD although adult na siya when I rehomed it mao I didnt worry about TEMPERAMENT kay I already knew na good and nice dog siya .

go for GSD .. hehehe.. sobra ka playful basta itoy pa.. kana naay maka kita nimo sa dalan with ur dog kay muingon "nindota ana nga iro oi".. hehehe..

wala sad ko problema sa lab.. kay naka duwa2x nakog lab, sobra ka nindot sad kay buotan.. makig dungan pa gani nimo ug langoy2x.. dili ni sila mahadlok sa 2big.. hehehe

it is fine with me if no paper and looking for a male puppy either of the Breed with reasonable price.
i am already aware of their vaccines, foods through friend conversation now and forum. The reason why i choose to have this breed is because it fits me. i can have walk with them or bring with them in a jog and at the same time a family or a guard dog function siya..

Hope to read more comments and suggestions.
