tsk tsk..they dissmiss the rape case on the grounds that it was a consensual act...rather they ruled out child abuse because the girl was a minor at the time of incident.

But i really doubt the credibility of the child's testimony here. There must be another motive why they really wanna get rid of the priest, a motive that can be as fishy as the proposed sanitary landfill.

Warrant of arrest issued v. Fr. Joey

A police team tried to arrest Fr. Jose “Joey� Belciña last Wednesday night, but failed to locate the Danao City priest until yesterday, in a search that included the Archbishop’s Palace in Cebu City.

Belciña’s lawyer, Gloria Lastimosa-Dalawampu, questioned the issuance of the arrest warrant, released a day after the Danao City Prosecutor’s Office filed a child abuse charge against the priest.

Prosecutor Jose Dio-nisio Kyamko “made an irreversible error that has violated the rights of my client,� Dalawampu told reporters.

She explained that she received a copy of the resolution Wednesday afternoon, but only after she filed a manifestation to be furnished the results of the preliminary investigation.

Assistant Cebu City Prosecutors Fernando Gubalane, Edgardo Monte-negro and Lineth Lapinid have resolved to dismiss the three rape complaints originally filed against the priest by an 18-year-old woman.

The complainant alleged that Belciña, who was helping pay for her education, raped her three times from July 2005 to January 2006.
But the investigating panel only found enough basis to believe that Belciña had consensual *** with the woman at least once,
when she was only 17—thus, the child abuse charge.

you're supporting a rapist? he's a rapist because the girl is a minor (17 years old). that is statutory rape. what's the difference if she's a girl and not a boy? it is rape and not child abuse. he abuse his authority and put his religion to shame. if she's really a minor when it happened the sob deserve to rot in jail together with other child molesters.

i would like to comment about this.. Fr. joey speculated and accused some people nga maoy nagdumala sa pagsang at ani nga case.. in the first place, the people he accused wala kabaw regarding sa case kung wala magkagubot sa maslog,danao city kay ge interview na si fr. joey sa abs -cbn and gma..

wala muage sa barangay ang case.. usually rape cases happening in the barangay muage sa hearing sa barangay diin nahetabo ang crime.. wala jud na moduol ang babaye sa kapitan or any barangay official..

if naa taga danao nga politiko nga nagpaluyo sa babaye, i think board member siya nga president sa iya school.. of course the politician believed in the testimony of the girl kay kusog man daw ang evidence against fr. joey..

ayaw jud palihug apil apila ang landfill sa istorya kay wala jud na labot.. na tyming lang nga napasang at ang case 1 week after he made a sermon regarding his opposition sa landfill..

base sa mga documents nga ge file sa girl, she had medical and psychological examinations done months before the sanitary landfill issue went out..
