-from the hidden beauty of the rain forest & mountain, this is my newbie share...
Location: Mt. Kalatungan, Bukidnon
Mt. Kalatungan peak rank as 6th of the highest point in the Philippine archipelago. This route includes three peaks that towered above 2800+ meters above sea level namely the Pala-pala, Kalatungan & Lampanag aka Wiji's peak. Those mentioned measured our determination in finishing the entire climb route. Pinay Mt. Everest summiter Ms. Carina Dayondon considered the Mt. Kalatungan as one of the most difficult mountain to summit & until now, the classification remain as 9/9 difficulty in Pinoymountaineer.com.
Based on the itinerary, it's a 3 peaks climb including the Lampanag traverse (aka Wiji or Macaupao peak), utilizing the newly established trail in Portulin via Hangaron Ridge as the entry point. The first day was considered as shortage of "daylight" for trekking because most of the climbers arrived at the camp 1 (Sangaya sa O'otah) on dark hour already or 6:00 PM due to a very long trail. As far as we can remember the last day trail which assaulted the 2600+ meters peak above sea level better known as "dung-awan" en route to Awang ridge was not included as the fourth peak.
