Have they done structural checks on the mothballed F-5As? The last F-5 hull loss resulted from a horizontal stabilizer coming off while flying in the landing pattern. The aircraft quickly dove to the ground and exploded, killing the pilot. Similar structural problems may plague the rest of the fleet.

read again my post. what i said was "even in CoIn operations, the PAF is not well equipped". is that the same as your understanding "wala man kaha sila maayo nga COIN can you cite one and post also the operation cost"? kalayo ra gyud sa ako gisulti.

why can't you just admit the fact the the AFPMP is long overdue and delayed. since you seems to be knowledgeable, enlighten us why it is taking too long? So what's programmed for PAF this year? Where are the choppers from Poland? You mean to say the other branches have already been modernized?

i am not judgemental, some of us are just in self-denial.

i am not judging anyone, but the fact is, the aircraft that the PAF are using are very very old. of course, i respect our soldiers. i have high regards for them. didn't you get what i said that the military deserves better equipment. mind you, i have a lot of relatives in the military. the AFP have been promised on several occasions with new equipment pero mang retire na lang, wala gyud niabot. pag join sa service, nauna na nila ang mga UH-1H, ni-retire na lang sila, nagserbisyo ra gihapon ang UH-1H.

Air Force’s helicopter gunship makes emergency landing; pilots safe

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines—An MG520 helicopter gunship had an emergency landing in a beach in Talisayan village here around 2:40 p.m., Wednesday, after encountering engine trouble.

Brigadier General Horacio Lapinid, commander of the Philippine Air Force's 3rd Air Division, said the pilots of the plane—a Major Sabrino and a Captain Parcia—were on "an element lead training" and flew from Edwin Andrews Airbase here.

As they were hovering over Talisayan, the helicopter's engine developed trouble, Lapinid said.

The pilots were forced to do an emergency landing, he said.

Lapinid said the aircraft's engine was damaged due to the impact of the landing but the pilots were safe.

He said a team of PAF investigators from Sangley Point in Cavite would be arriving soon to determine what caused the engine trouble.

The fleet of the PAF is all ageing with crashes—some of them fatal—occurring every now and then.

Philippine Air Force are one of the weakest military organization in the world?

    I'm not surprised.
