nabsahan lng nako ni sa facebook bro, nya naka kita sab ko sa news that mayweather mu pahuway ug 1 or 2 years sa iyang career. mao cguro ni decide cya mu pahuway muna para makalikay sya ni pacman....?

After Floyd Mayweather's defeat of "Suger" Shane Mosley last month, the big question has been: will a fight against Manny Pacquiao be next?

Well, it looks like the mega-fight is back on.

Shortly after Pac-Man won a seat on Congress in his native country the Philippines recently, negotiations for a fight between himself and Money Mayweather began ... for the second time. However, Mayweather was still said to be holding firm on his stance for Olympic-style drug testing.

But now, a compromise may have been met.

According to the BBC, Pacquaio is agreeing to a 14-day cut-off -- leading up to the fight -- for blood testing, an offer Mayweather said he offered originally, but was denied.

"I have agreed to it, but they should not draw much blood. They should only take what is necessary for the drug test," the Filipino boxer is quoted as saying.

A fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather -- who many regard as the two best pound-for-pound boxers in the sport today -- would likely be the biggest in boxing history.

"He [Mayweather] will no longer have a reason [not to fight]," said Pacquiao. "Let's see if that is really the reason."

Both fighters tried to make the fight happen earlier this year, but negotiations ceased after both sides failed to agree on terms regarding drug testing.

They both went on to take separate fights, and both were victorious. Pacquiao defeated Joshua Clottey, and Mayweather beat Shane Mosley in a decision. Following Mayweather's win, talk began about a possible match against Pac-Man, and now, things seem to be nearly finalized.

At press time, nothing had been announced officially, but previous statements from Pac-Man's camp said the potential fight would take place in November.

Team Pacquiao not buying Mayweather’s ‘retirement’

Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s comments hinting at his retirement from boxing has gone largely undetected by Congressman Manny Pacquiao, who is enjoying a vacation with his family in the United States.

"Wala pang reaksyon si Manny. Nagbabakasyon pa siya [Manny is yet to comment on the issue. He's still on vacation.]," said Pacquiao's chief of staff Jake Joson to Yahoo! Southeast Asia, adding, "Let's just leave everything to [Bob] Arum."

Mayweather said in his video interview for the Make-A-Wish Foundation that he'll be taking couple of years off the ring.

"I want to devote my time in my boxing gym and just give back to the homeless," said Mayweather in his interview.

In an ABS-CBN report, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum is not buying what Mayweather had said and believes that he "was just babbling."

"You never know with Floyd. Sometimes he just talks for the sake of talking. If Floyd plans to take a year or two off, we should be seeing a formal press release soon," Arum said as quoted by boxingscene.com.

"Nagpapataas presyo lang si Mayweather [Mayweather just wants to get a higher percentage in his purse]," added Joson in his phone interview with Yahoo! Southeast Asia.

But if ever the Pacquiao-Mayweather bout will not push through, Joson has this to say, "Kilala naman natin si Manny na as a boxer kahit sino lalabanan nya [As a boxer, Manny will fight anyone]."

A possible rematch between Pacquiao and new WBA super-welterweight champion Miguel Cotto, who finished off Yuri Foreman at the Yankee Stadium, is Arum's Plan B according to a Philstar.com report.

Pacquiao will be back in the Philippines on June 14 to prepare for his legislative duties as representative of the lone-district of Sarangani, said Joson.
