I went through the article comments and found this:

    From Ramie
Face the fact Americans, you can't do the job. You still need basic knowledge just to acquire less than one eighth of the technical knowledge the overseas people have. Yes, there maybe language barriers, but not all. At least they know your language, but do you even know their language? Overseas workers are versatile, they try fixing the problems you American's have because you are incapable of handling them yourselves. You discriminate them but you still use their products. You're just eating your words. It boils down to the fact that you Americans lack the knowledge, good manners and right conduct. You assume yourselves as professional, working two or more jobs at a time but NO HEART at all. No wonder your country is slowly going down. Your stinking attitude and way of thinking is pulling you down. Don't be so confident to take all the responsibility to have this job because you still lack the capability. You don't even use LOGIC. People need to use that everyday but sad to say, you don't have it. LOGIC, INITIATIVE AND RESOURCEFULNESS should be built in to the core of your existence. This cannot be acquired by going to school or undergoing training. The qualities should be innate. Eat all the money you want, that's all that matters to you Americans, DOLLARS. English maybe your native language but you still do not understand it even if you dissect every sentence that comes our from your mouth.
    I totally agree with her....

i beg to disagree to both of you and to ramie. Americans are not poor in logic nor lazy. Nagsalig sila sa tech support because they are paying for that. They are not "resourceful" matud pa ninyo because they are not paid to be. It's not about persons capability but on how they were brought up.

Simple ra na. Ang amerikano if wala nay labot sa ilang sweldo nor sa ilang description, di na sila manghilabot. Why? Because they were brought up to that idea kay most of the time if manghilabot ka nga wa kay labot, mao nay kaprisohan or worse kamatyan nimo.

Sa tech support sad, kinahanglan sila manawag since apil man na sa ilang gibayaran. Samut na if ang ilang napalit, labi na consumer eectronics, way klaro ang troubleshooting instructions and worst to that ang troubleshooting instructions kay contact tech support.

wala nako gigamay ang atong call center agents. pero ngano masuko man ta if wa na sila magkinahanglan sa atong serbisyo? abi nako resourceful ta? abi nako naa tay logic?

Sus grabeh naman sad mo oi. This is already bordering on racism and ignorance naman sad. You can't just conclude someone is stupid or unintelligent because they aren't technically savvy. There is a generational gap that exists, not only in America but everywhere. Old people tend to have a hard time adapting to technology because they aren't accustomed to it. But that person you call "walay logic" might in fact have a PhD or be the CEO of a corporation. Even my dad, who heads a company that earns millions in dollars every year did not know how to email until very recently. Does that make you smarter than him? Certainly, someone who works as a call center agent should not be passing judgment on others just because they aren't as technically hip as they are. One day, when you're older, you too will be stumped by some cutting-edge technology that your kids take in stride.

Furthermore, having lived in the States, I know for a fact that they are far from the "illogical" people that some posters here make them out to be out of sheer ignorance, jealousy, racism or all of the above. Consider that at their worst, the Americans voted in George Bush Jr. but at our worst, we voted for someone like Erap. Add to that the fact that we vote countless numbers of actors and useless people into the Senate and Congress and I'd have to wonder if Americans are stupid and illogical what does that make us Filipinos? Smart and insightful? Phuleez...
