Epidural (option during labor/delivery)

hi, just want to know if some moms here had an epidural when they were in labor/delivering their babies? i know its supposed to be painless and all, but just want to know from people who had first-hand experience-- like, is it really painless? did u still feel contractions? to those who have experienced having an epi and not having one, was it easier having the epidural or would u still opt for normal birthing? and i hope u can also post or pm me how much it cost you to have one.

i already asked my ob about this and she said if i prefer to have one, its ok. its just that im a lil scared coz when i was in my 2nd trimester, i had premature contractions and it was really, really painful (im not used to dysmenorrhea pains and all so im sure ill have the shock of my life when labor comes!hehehe). some people might say na its better to undergo normal labor process and blah, blah, and i know that, i just want to explore my options thats all. =)

the only thin about epidural is that anesthetics are used... thats about it..

nag epidural ko pag labor nako. but kato 9 cm nako ni decide ang ob na e cs ko kay nag hangad man akong bby sud sako tummy den maabtan pa ug another 2 hours akong labor ok ramn ta to nako na maabtan kay ga epidural ko wa jud ko ka feel sa contractions but sadly ako bby kay ga fetal distress naxa nihinay na iya heart beat so no choice ko but magpa cs nlng. nndt jud ang epidural kay katong ako d ta ko nhn kay nhn lageh ko mag normal jud para maka ingn kog succes! but kung maka feel naka sa false contractions soooos mura kog mamatay! hahah gakurog kos kaskt so niingn ko na mgpa epidural ko. so mao to yey! nawa tawn ang kskit pero kung half body ni numb pud. hahaha

My sister had an epidural sa iya paglabor last april lang cya nanganak pero naglagot lang cya kay dugay kau gi-administer,nagyaw2 kay nadefeat na ang purpose kay gipafeel pa cya sa sakit ug dugay usa ghatag sa iyaha ang anesthetics...knowing my sister nga isog ug taas kau ug pain tolerance and she always have dysmenorrhea episodes every period,wa jud cya kasugakod sa labor pains...

Be brave lang sis when the time comes nga manganak nka just pray,relax and think positive pra mabutang sa imo mind nga makaya ra nimo for your sake and most importantly for your baby's safe delivery puhon...stay as calm as you possibly can during labor. I know this is easier said than done but your body was made to do it and the more you panic and tense up, the more it hurts.

I myself got through 2 labors and deliveries minus the pain meds..

Believe in your ability that you can do it but then again its still up to you...Goodluck!

i had an epidural wen i gave birth last december.. i felt pain during the early stages of labor but tolerable ra.. i had my epidural because my OB wanted me to rest.. almost 24 hours ko nag labor.. pag administer it was painless jud.. naka tulog ko from 6 cm until a human.. but pag deliber na jd sa baby my OB lowered the dose of anesthesia para mka feel ko ug gamay na pain.. she was right kay mas nindot naay pain inig manganak na para naay urge to push.. dli man ka ka feel sa contractions with epidural so walay lami i.utong..hehehe..

i gave birth sa chong hua.. i would recommend epidural kay dli lalim ang ka sakit..hehehe

ui update lng sa ako thread, naka epidural jud tawn ko kai gi-CS mn ko... hehehe

painless as in, pagturok sa epi kai nwagtang tanan akong kasakit sa paglabor. awake jud ka nig operate nila pero wa jud kai mafeel na hiwa2x or anything, mura lng gi-bitad2x imo skin gamay...
