we do have a big squatter problem in our Mandaue ... there is more than enough room in our city ... to house them ... in clean and well organized socialized housing projects ...... which the GOOD mayor tried to do ...

Jonas should build up on the strength of mandaue which is in the manufacturing side. Makati is a financial district. Which Cebu city has a lock on already. You cannot ask the big banks to transfer their operations to mandaue when they are firmly established in cebu city already.
Jonas should aim to be like Pasig or even MEPZA. Bring manufacturing to mandaue and create more jobs.

ni grow ang mandaue tungod sa sanmiguel. and san miguel was placed there because mandaue was a "port city". ni sprout ang mga residences dha tungod sa industries dha. majority of the residents in mandaue are not "lumad". meaning mga trabahante na sila sa mga factories dha sauna ya ni settle na dha.
nag pa boom sa mandaue sauna was san miguel, jaka, norkis, katong rattan factories ug kana rong mga furniture factories sa cubacub.
so if ang plano ni cortes na himoong makati which is a business hub (meaning commercial, light and semi industrial, and first class residential), dugay2x pa gyud na...
i say... be like pasig instead of makati.
sakto ka bai leartes. industrial city ang mandaue. promote that instead of making mandaue a financial hub. nakauna na ang cebu city ana. lisod na.
actually sa zoning sa atong mga cities dri, its like this:
1. Cebu City (Commercial, Light industrial ug residential)
2. Mandaue City (Heavy Industrial, Light Industrial, mid Commercial and light to mid residential)
3. Lapu lapu (Mid to High Commercial, Light to semi heavy industrial, light to mid residential)
4. Danao City (Mid to High Industrial, Light commercial, light to mid residential)
5. Consolacion (light to mid Industrial, light to mid commercial, mid to high residential)
6. Liloan (light industrial, light to mid residential, light commercial)
7. Minglanilla (Light to mid industrial, light to mid residential, light to mid commercial)
8. Naga (same with Minglanilla...)
note: Consolacion, Liloan, Minglanilla and Naga are part of the "METRO CEBU" same with the other cities mentioned.
Lacion and Liloan ni saka ang residential zones nila because of Mandaue City. same pud ang sa south. mao na gi link sa SRP to bring trade and transport goods to Cebu City and Mandaue.
A part of this link would be then Cordova, to give access from mainland straight to the airport in mactan.
5 years after i link ang Mainland ug Crodova, Cordova would then be Light to Mid Industrial and Light to Mid residential.

cebu city should be heavy commercial. the bulk of the financial services are located in cebu.
ayaw kalimti ang ayala..dapat industrial na lng na diha..mga warehouse..ehehe or dumpsite
