    Question problem with 2 OS

i had windows xp before i upgraded to windows 7. ambot ngano didto nako na install ang windows 7 sa drive D so now i have 2 OS (windows xp on drive C, windows 7 on drive D). long story short, i read somewhere about EasyBCD, installed it, got rid of windows xp (or not).

when i looked at my drive C, naa lang gihapon ang junk from windows xp, so apparently it wasn't fully removed from my netbook. when i try to manually delete them, here's what i get.

    need your help guys.

    why don't you just reformat drives C & D and reinstall Win7 on C
i'm assuming you have drive D for backup purposes

boot win7 then click start orb then type msconfig hit enter
when at msconfig dialog click the boot tab > select the OS u want to remove from boot selection startup screen (in this case ur win xp) then click delete. this will action will remove windows xp from win 7 bcd. then click ok then restart.

you will notice that winxp is no longer on ur win7 startup screen if it will display this screen.. then once logon to win7 click start > computer then format your winxp drive. dont worry about the drive letter designation since the drive that is use to boot win7 will always be drive C. and ur prev winxp drive will now become drive D in win7. try to check that out.

you dont need to format the whole pc.. just the HDD where u have ur winxp installed.

place your important files in drive C: to drive D:

reformat drive C and install windows 7 on drive C.

transfer back important files that was transferred to drive D in drive C

    reformat drive D

1st step already resolved by easybcd i think cos i don't see it here.

now this is what i want to get rid off completely.

um so wala nay OS sa drive C kay wala nay windows symbol or something (pasensya wala kaayo koy alam ani )? but some files are still there nga gahi kaayo kwaon.

by the way, i'm using a netbook diay. so you see hasol kaayo ireformat ang whole netbook kay tua sa akong pag umangkon ang external dvd drive. more ideas?

try daw uncheck and quickformat sa format options.

or try booting in diagnostic mode.
    nya dd2 i.format imo drive C:

or start in command prompt nya type Format /FS:NTFS x: where X is the drive letter u want to format.

ahhh okay we'll try to format in safe mode.

in command prompt it says "system partition is not allowed to be formatted." :/

the best way is to install it clean and redo everything...
get the external DVD drive back or install Win7 on a USB flash drive and boot from USB.
