I think we should device an electoral system like in the US where we can sit down in every barangay or kapilya in determining the "uninformed" and the "informed" voters. We can consider his income tax, educational attainment, work experience, etc. in determining his electoral status. The "uninformed" votes could be 1/2 or 1/3 weight of the "informed" votes. Even the constitution could be amended to include an IQ & neuro-psychological test, physical or intellectual test, etc. before your application for candidacy can be accepted. This may not be acceptable to many but it can be the real solution of our current mess. We can always go back to the old system when we catch-up with our neighbors whose voters are politically mature.

some higher class siguro (businessmen, entrepreneurs) ang tax evaders but not the middle class (employed) kay deducted na man na sa imo salary daan ang tax di man ka under declare imo salary although i know some companies who practices this pero only very few and it's illegal.

With so many in this thread saying the right to vote should be exclusive to a subset of the population qualified to do so, the very same people would not be able to vote ... because quite frankly, the very same people posting here are *****s. I mean seriously? ... only college educated voters are allowed in the US? Only those who pay taxes? Wow. Some people truly do not know what democracy is.

To believe that any of you are more worthy than others to choose a President is idiotic, unconstitutional, and undemocratic. Why don't you just hold a single election to elect the nobility and have it done with if you have so little faith in the people.

This is, in fact, the downside of democracy I'm afraid. After seeing Erap clinching the number 2 spot, perhaps second thoughts about your 'faith in the people' is appropriate. This topic is indeed radical, no question about that, but it's at least an honest knee-jerk reaction to Erap's amassing of 8million+ votes. Surely you find that upsetting as well?

lagi vote buying jud ang dahilan...labi na ang mga buaya sige vote buying...ang amo local elections kai puno ug vote buying.. grabe kaau, lantaran...adto lang ka sa ila designated place in each barangay, look for your designated precinct leader then get your money...you will receive a sample ballot, sa amoang case kai noynoy ang ila gi endorse though last minute(Friday) ra na nga pag endorse kai matod pa sa ako nka istorya nga part sa team sa maong kandidato, nintawag daw si danding sa maong kandidato nga hatagan niya ug kwarta para palusoton si noynoy...


Luoy kaau ang liberal party nuon dinhe kai way nadawat budget didto napunta sa buaya...then landslide daun kai mag straight vote na daun sila except sa president which is noynoy kai mao man ang naay budget....

after ka makavote, you will be given a green card from people outside each precinct then that will save as your proof of voting their preferred candidates then you will receive a second envelope..

kaduha sila manhatag, before voting and after voting....
