wow, very informative kaayo bro ang imung ge share dire nga forum.... wish daghan pud ang makahimo ani, labi na ang naka engage na daan sa farming kay based jud sa ilang actual experience. naa kay mahatag nga farm which gibuhat nila ni bro nga pamaagi, at least makita jud ang result. and can you suggest what coconut who bares more ang bigger one? i have a coconut called "kinabalan" dagku ni siya nga type, then moboon nga lubi.
again, thanks.
ang naa sa among farm, mrd (malaysian red dwarf) x katigan, mrd x macapuno ug synvar(synthethic variety, hybrid of a hybrid...
base sa amoa mrd x katigan ang mas ok, mrd is known for its number of fruits while katigan for its sturdiness and fruit bearing japun.... pero dugay sya gamay 3 years...
the technology is already available...kun gusto mo sample, pletehe lang ko adto ta kabacan, cotabato...or sa digos, davao. polomolok, cotabato....
dili ko sure dire sa visayas.... puro ra man tubo ang ginapangtanom dire...naay gamay lubi pero puro tubo.... maypagtanom mo ug lubi, everyday pa mo harvest ug coco sugar....
not familiar with that, sorry...i know that this is not a hybrid. are you planting that type of nut sir? or is it existing...heres what i suggest if its existing....buy hybrid...let it sprout, plant after 1 year in between the rows of your existing crops. imagine you have four trees , planted in a square 10m x 10m. if you plant in between them you can have another 4 if you plant like a diamond like so
x----- o----- x
o----- -----o
x -----o----- x
after 3 years it will bear fruit...buy another batch of coconuts after a year... then let it sprout and replace your old trees...cut them down for lumber if they are older than 25 years if younger...hmmm you may choose to retain them but my suggestion would be to replace them also.
if your looking for someone who actually farms this method other than me, you wont find it here in this forum....you see, dako nga investment ang kailangan to pull this off...were talking here of upwards 200k per hectare for the first 3 years.... no farmer (in the true sense of the word) has that kind of money. but if your a businessman, you may invest on it for at least 10 hectares to be worth your while... you see pinoys are very shortsighted people.... they can only see whats happening right now. thats why they are still planting old varieties that only gives them 3-5 tons of copra per hectare...but with the technology that i am telling you right now, you can easily gross 8 -12 tons per hectare... but it comes with a price.
so instead of hanging out in the forum to look for ideas may pag adto ka da or pca...get an informed response. trust the experts... kay kun mangutana ka lang ug farmer, they cant teach you much technology. if you ask the businessman, they are just letting the business grow, they have a manager or a consultant,
ps....have time today and im happy since the euro crashed...and i was short euro vs japanese yen... 1000 points in a day....hahaha...meaning if you had invested $130 (or even $26, depending on your leverage) you could have cashed $1000, in one day...
thats why i chose not to be a farmer or a consultant, because of this, even if i have a degree in agriculture...pero ot nako....so byers na
up for this very interesting topic...... here in cebu bro, where is the ideal location for investment in coconut farming? can you suggest possible location bro momoneyz? thanks
anywhere there is land and water....
if you have read what i had written, regarding my plans on planting on the lahar fields....then you know that you can plant where there is land and water...
but which land is more suitable, frankly it doesnt matter really. its how you fertilize the crop thats what matters.
if your a businessman, you would think, what do you intend to do with your coco plantation...
the products i mean...
a: copra?
b. buko?
c: macapuno?
d: coco sugar?
e: virgin coconut oil?
if its copra, you would want to plant closer to a cooking oil refinery, if its b, the nearer to a market, say carbon or what...but if its c, d, and e then you can do it in your own backyard.
hope it helps
maayoha nimomomoneys oi.... im from butuan pero la pako kadungog ana new technology sa coconut farming.. asa ko maka inquire ana sir.? kay nako 5 hects w/ old coconuts na.. plan ko mag replant
PCA...Philippine Coconut Authority....daghan ka dinha kat-onan...just search lang jud
naay nag pm sa ako asking about banana plantation...10k lang daw ang puhunan for a hectare...
is it posible... yes... here in cebu yes....
do you know that 80% of banana sa cebu is not from cebu?
so you have your answer...because if your in cebu you dont have to ship the product...
unsa nga saging? i would say cardava...
but biggest problem with cardava is planting material...if you can find one that is cheap then you can achieve your 10k na cost, but it would require cheap labor and no fertilization and plowing....but i would say try 25k na lang...
heres what you do...
plant it at 4m x 4m...in a hectare you would need 625 planting material plus add 75 for contigency para sa patay...planting mat 700 x 10php= 7000
fertilizer 5000
plowing harrowing 5000
pest control 3000
labor 5000
total 25000
mahal kaayo saging dinhi...x2 or x3 sa mindanao so you have your competitive advantage their...cons dinhi is labor...mejo mahal labor dinhi...i dont know if the DA here offers cheap plowing services...kay kun dili patay ka dinha...
brighta nmu bai oist..hehehe...patudlo nya ko sa atung florex trading...hkhk
