here is a knife that am working on for bushcrafting... got it from a friend but did not like the handle shape because it had a finger guard, so ground it off and am planning to reshape the tang, but my orange home made micarta on it and put a nice patina on it with mustard..... last night i convexed the bevels and cleaned it up a bit.....

is a work in progress so will keep updating the pics....

here is theorange micarta that am going to be using for my new handles, i had to regrind the handle to the shape i wanted and then slowly filed and sanded it down to the point where i was happy with the shape...

here is how it came out:

now i need to sand down the "micarta" until smooth and at the shape i want. last step will be to put a nice patina on my blade.

Gills and I have a swap deal and now I have one of his prized knife blanks made of T-5160 steel. I decided to polish off and fine-tune the shape of the tang to my specs and so I made an outline of the knife in its original shape on the paper.

What I did is I shade the part that has to be done away including the punching of two holes into the tang to secure the scales later. Below is the result of the rounding off of the tang and the holes.
