Is the love we are talking about love for significant unrelated other, or a family member, child, pet, object, or idea.

It's important to ask the question, "Is this love the result of a deep connection of some sort or a fleeting thought?" The answer to that question is likely to give you a pretty good idea of where a certain love may be coming from.

The heart and the mind both play important roles in the emotion we call "love." Some people will say that love comes exclusively from the heart, because it is a feeling and not some made up, reasoned concept. Others will say that love simply comes from the mind, since people must choose the people whom they love, and the opposite feeling, hate, is required to know what "love" means.

People use their hearts, sometimes, to say that they just "feel" that they love another person. At other times, people will say that they use their minds to decide who they love the best.

However, in reality, love is governed by both the heart and the mind. Love is an effort, if we think about it. Though we can "naturally" love something or someone, just as we may "love" chocolate ice cream or "love" our mother, we can also come to love people romantically. Sometimes, that romantic love comes naturally or it may develop over time. Sometimes, we will make the effort to make that love work, or we may not. Either way, a person's heart and mind may be conflicted.

However, it is important to understand that love is an emotion, and the mind can have a profound effect on our emotions.

Depending on the type of love and the context, it can originate from the heart or the mind.

This is attributed to the complex structure of love. It is felt and thought. When a person deeply loves another person, the first place affected is the heart. The heart is the nucleus of all emotion. It is at the center of our dreams and base of our hopes.

The mind is simply not built to handle love. The purpose of the mind is to make sense of the world. The mind is where our thought patterns exist.
The mind often conflicts with the character of love. This takes place because love sometimes goes against what the mind is about.
This is where the battle begins. Some people find it hard to cope with because the mind is telling them one thing and their heart is telling them another.

Love is one of the most complex and intense emotions in the world. It consist of numerous facets and variations. The mind could not accomdate this powerful emotion because it is often irrational. The mind is logical and organized, while love is often unpredictable and sporadic. The most rational individuals find it difficult to control this force that comes into their lives.

It is nearly impossible to love someone from the mind. The mind places too many conditions on love. It is not the right atmosphere for the spirit of the emotion either. Love wants to fly free. The mind is a like a cage filled with protocol.

If you find yourself in battle between your mind and heart, it is normal. They operate by two distinct laws. One is never in total agreement, unless they come to a mutual understanding.

Keep in mind that love is independent of the mind. Since its domain is the heart, it will respond to it first. Logical and ethics rarely apply to this multifaceted force. The best way to deal with this reality is to let love be love. Let it fly free because the more it is held against its will the more intense it will become.

Our limbic System (Brain) tells gives command for falling interest / love / hate in everything we see..

sa tinood all emotions are coming from the mind/brain, specifically at the hypothalamus area, it give off hormones nga maka ingon ka i love/like that person... once maka kita gani ka sa imo crush mo pump fast imo heart kay tungod na sa hormones nga na release, den maka ingon dayon ka nga ang heart mo ning dictate but it is the brain...

the heart is just a pumping muscles that give oxygenated blood to all the part of the body...

that's y in loving u always use your brain not ur heart...

medically speaking, it should be your brain.
The heart just pumps out blood day-in and day-out.
But the heart had become the symbol of our emotions..
... from the scriptures there is a passage that we should love our neighbors with all our hearts.
... if we are mean and utter disregard to others,we will be referred to as cold hearted.
... if we are full of love and care, we are said to have a "big heart"

but to me, should it really matter what one believes where love comes from?
isn't it more important to know that we truly loved and felt loved?

    ^__^
