APO Hiking Society’s farewell concert in Cebu

40 years ago, three young men who loved music and performing gave up the opportunity of working in the corporate world to pursue their dream of advancing Original Filipino Music.

40 years later , with 26 record albums, thousands of live concerts here and abroad plus a decade of performing as TV hosts behind them, the APO Hiking Society has proven that there is a special place in the hearts of Pinoys for good old OPM.

Early this year, Jim, Danny & Boboy, announced in a press conference that their series of shows from February until the end of May will be their final curtain call as a group. Jim Paredes said, “This last stretch, we would really like to see many of you…. The best shows we’ve ever done in our career will happen right now in our last stretch. We are coming to an end.” It wasn’t an easy decision. According to them, it took almost a year of rigorous deliberations before they finally agreed that it is time for the group to leave the industry.

This coming May 5 (Wednesday), the ageless trio of the ‘70s and ‘80s pop music, will be bringing their professional career to a close. And in celebration of 40 years of friendship, music and entertainment, the APO will be holding a concert entitled “Paalam nAPO taga Cebu” as part of their farewell concert series at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel at 8:00pm.

We invite you to be part of OPM history… an event that marks the end of a remarkable career of three men who only wanted to create wonderful original Pilipino music, to sing and entertain their fans.
