I can see daghan ug suggestions diri and I think malibug nahinuon ka. I have used all of them and will give my personal insights:

Flea collar - manufacturers said works for 4 months but I believe 2 months ra iyang tagal. Pero para nako ang major problem kay dali kayo matang-tang especially if ki-atan imong dog and offleashed.

Frontline - very effective pero not practical if you have a PAck of Dogs. Mahal ra kayo siya then dili kaya sa bulsa.

Amitraz - delikado kay insecticide and if your dog keeps licking, basin daku nahi-nuon ka ug magasto sa ospital.

Apple Cider - I have used these to cure Mange. Ang Downside kay sige ka ug apply every now and then.

For me the most effective way to kill fleas/ticks/mites is an IVERMECTIN shot once a month. It is originally used for HEARTWORMS but studies showed if given the right dosage, it can effectively kill FLEAS/MITES/TICKS. For only P30 you can save a Dog's life by preventing HEARTWORMS and enjoy mite-free Dog.

    Happy training,

    Jojo Bautista

please don't self-administer such drugs to your dogs.

the reason i wished to clarify about that 30-peso ivermectin (maybe it's just a typo) is that I once asked my vet for an injectable ivermectin which I heard is effective for months (unlike heartgard which should be given monthly) but she warned me that it could be dangerous since such injectables are used for cattle and dogs are too small for it.

i'm not saying this is the same ivermectin she's referring to but i'm pointing it out so we guys can be careful in what we give our dogs...

yup guys, careful gyud mo ug ivermectin. Never self administer these kinds of drugs, thinking you are saving yourself money. If your dogs get sick, lisud na kung ma irreversible and damage. mas dako mo ug gasto sa vet.

Putting the wrong dosage is very deadly for dogs and their liver. Regarding FRONTLINE, please buy it directly from the vets as there are many fake Frontlines proliferating around.

I made a post on this in my dog blog, please read:

Ivermectin is usually sold in VIALS but you can also buy it in a syringe for P30. Just go to your nearest Veterinary supplies store. They will usually ask you for the weight of your dog so they can give you the proper dosage. Based from my research, its not advisable to administer IVERMECTIN to sheepdog breeds like the border collie.

    Happy training!

If you have enough resources go for FRONTLINE... As an alternative, pwede ra na menudo nga amitraz sa ka Caminade or ka Dr. Gorre... Just mix it with 1 litter of water nya i spray sa dogs and its environment (cage, inyo balay, mga corners, etc)... Effective jud kayo na.. Good luck!

Btw, as a precaution/prevention, i spray amitraz at least once a month or every 2 mos!

for me, +1 ko sa frontline.. mas mo prefer ko sa spot on even though mahal2x siya ( I have 4 dogs ), if naa ka daghan doggies try frontline spray mas sulit siya... kato 3 pa ka buok ako dog mga 4 months ang isa ka small bottle.. bought it for 600+ so ma hulog siya around 150/months for 3 small dogs
