With regards to the LADP, credit should go to Emano... It was through his effort that the loan from Korea was granted... Actually, he brought home the grant, literally... Since getting the money, nadugay pa gyud gamay tungod the government did not prioritize the project... One reason, may be, is that GMA lost badly in CdO and Iligan sa 2004 presidential elections... Mao nang nasuko si GMA kay Emano... The government's supposedly share/counterpart of the budget for our airport was spent somewhere else for another airport project...

Yes, Bai... It's a national project with international funding through grants from Korea... Saying it's a "freebie" is not entirely accurate... Hanjin Heavy Industries Corp has always been contractors of airports and other large construction projects... I think they were also the ones who built the DIA... Their intention to build a Shipbuilding Facility at PHIVIDEC is a different subject matter... Notice that eventhough their project at PHIVIDEC is somewhat on the rocks, smooth sailing man gihapon ang pag-construct sa airport... BTW, Emano personally brought home the loan from Korea after one of his trade missions there... Pero, in every project, bisan almost entirely internationally funded, the national government always has a counterpart amount... This amount is the one I refered to earlier as being diverted to another airport project in the Visayas, causing further delay of the LADP bisan naa na ang loan from Korea...

FYI bai, HANJIN is primarily involved in shipbuilding industry..diri ni sila nagsugod gyud then syempre nag-venture into construction projects (like Dubai International Airport--first ever major airport project nila nga nakuha sa ME region)..as ive said bai pulitika ra gyapon ni, part na VisMin Super Regions Projects ni GMA wherein existing airports must be upgraded or relocated (i.e Iloilo-relocted to Sta.
