don't get me wrong, coaches' experience do have a big impact on games but there's not much you can do on the sidelines 'coz the bottomline is: players still have to execute and make the plays.. not the coaches. ^^ that's part of my previous post and let me expound on that even more... yes, there's no question that Pat Riley is eons ahead of AJ but what I'm saying is, after Shaq and Wade, he would have a hard time finding someone on his team who can help both his stars when their shots aren't there, 'coz his plays run thru both so if they bungle a certain play, would Walker, J Will, Payton, Posey, Haslem, Mourning pick up the slack?Â*tell me who on that list will score 25 or more twice in the next 6 games? it's hard right..? compound that with Shaq's and Wade's inability to convert their freebies.. all Pat can do is scratch his head.. coaching can't help you on the 15 ft line.. coaching can't help you when you make a dumb-headed pass..
and EZRA I've already stated in my earlier posts that the Heat have liabilities that the Mavs can capitalize on - freethrows and turnovers - and they did just that by fouling Shaq and Wade. they would continue to double-up on Shaq, double-up on Wade and just let their supporting cast kill them.. it's a gamble I know, but it's well worth it.
Shut Up! Let your GAME do the talking!
OT: Phil's coaching prowess is still debatable until today.. sports analysts of ESPN, TNT, FOX to name a few would mention Jordan, Pippen and a very potent supporting casts in his Bulls run and who would forget Shaq, Kobe and a well balanced bench with the Lakers? yes, he led them to the playoffs this year with Kobe and... nevermind... but that's their point of view and they do have a point. Phil had superstars in his championship runs.. so we can't say it's all coaching..

OMAD - that goes to all the coaches man gud..people can mess up plays, no one is perfect. My post was directed to the statement you made about coaches. You just made it sound like they're not that important since they're not the ones who's on the court playing the game.
Why pamper life's complexities when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat?
Coaching? Players? Not really, but one thing though.., it's the chemistry.
coaches are not the ones who make or miss freethrows, they don't make boneheaded decisions in passing - resulting to turnovers -, they're not the ones who'll miss their defensive assignments.. players do. don't get me wrong, coaches' experience do have a big impact on games but there's not much you can do on the sidelines 'coz the bottomline is: players still have to execute and make the plays.. not the coaches. as far as missed freethrows, turnovers and missed defensive assignments are concerned, coaches can't really do anything about it. same with the execution of plays, in the huddle, coaches instruct players which plays to make in certain situations but it's still the players who have to execute those to perfection... not the coaches.

I'd like to share this quote by Stack when asked re the teams' belief in AJ's coaching:
"If it was a wall there and Avery said go through it, if he's telling me to do it, in my mind I'm thinking there is a soft spot in there somewhere because everything he's told me up to this point has been real and has helped me," Mavericks reserve Jerry Stackhouse said. "We trust that dude with everything we do."and here's a quote on how Pat viewed AJ long before when he was still a point guard with the Spurs:
"I used to hear him when I coached against him, he would be barking words with those high-pitched orders telling everybody where to go and admonishing David Robinson and Tim Duncan and they would say, 'Yes, sir,' " Riley said. "It's great to see a young coach come along that has gained in a short period of time the ultimate respect of his players."

whooooo......this is teeeaaaammm basketball by the mavs!!! GO GO MAVS...hope they can hold on their lead
Heat is getting killed... The Mavs are making them look like a bunch of amateurs. So disappointing and embarrassing to say the least.
Traveling violations.... turnovers... missed shots under the basket ...
All the credit goes to the Mavs .. STACK was hitting like crazy, DIRK is doing his routine... people are hitting the mid-to-long-ranged shots.. and lots of them uncontested.
The HEAT are getting outplayed... and outcoached,
Why pamper life's complexities when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat?
