precisely. cultures associate a benign deity as from up high. not from below. if you analyze it, it's human consciousness dictating where gods come from and not gods telling human consciousness where they are from. man always wants to be up there with the clouds not down there with the worms and dregs of the earth where he actually belongs.

man created gods according to man's consciousness. why modern man associates gods with aliens is a product of strained reasoning and can be traced when comic books and hollywood movies began coming out with alien stories.

we see hieroglyphs we cannot understand, we say they are depictions of aliens. we find etchings we cannot decipher, we call them signs that aliens visited earlier civilizations. what's amazing is the fact that those who read UFOs into these ancient writings and doodles are not trained in the art and science of deciphering ancient texts and writings nor are schooled in ancient history and its arts. Like Eric von Daniken who became a millionaire because of his wayward interpretations of things he claimed to have seen in Nazca, Mesopotamia and Egypt.

the truth of the matter is that von Daniken is way out of his league. he is not too different from the Filipino tambalan who calls Latin any inscription no one else can understand. But anyone who knows the meaning of dura lex sed lex knows that it is not but a doodle of an ignorant, perhaps, illiterate, old man.

In alien stories as well as conspiracy theories, caveat emptor.
