Default LOST TV show connection to X-men???

Any fans of the TV show LOST? The wife and I were watching X-men the Last Stand and the thought occured to us that, aside from having former X-scribe Jeph Loeb as part of the writing crew, there are a lot of many amazing parallels between LOST and X-men.

Here are some off the top of my head:

    1. They are a diverse multi-cultural cast.

    2. Jack, Kate and Sawyer, their physical appearances, their character traits, and most especially their uncomfortable love triangle are eerily remincent of Cyclops, Jean Grey and Wolverine.

Jack, like Cyclops, is the reluctant and tortured leader, who leads out of guilt and fear of failure.

Kate - the beatiful red-head with green eyes.

Sawyer - The scroundrel whose brutish and abrasive exterior masks a tortured past. Just like Wolverine.

    3. Their mentor is a bald dude - who until recently was confined to a wheelchair.

    4. Their plane was destroyed by an unseen hand possesing electromagnetic properties (Magneto?).

    5. Oh and they are strangely connected to a strange organization involved in genetic and social manipulation.

hahaha. nice one. but i doubt wether such coincidences were intentional on the writers part. but thanx for pointing it out. their characters do fit to a tee with the xmen.

I don't think those are coincidences. I think they are obvious allusions.

Consider the fact that two of the show's top writers, Jeph Loeb and Paul Dini are both from the comic book world. Jeph Loeb was producer on Smallville and writer on Batman/Superman and X-men. Paul Dini was co-creator of the shows Batman:TAS, Superman, Batman Beyond and Justice League Unlimited.

Check out the website of the Hanso Foundation, the company mentioned in the series as the source for the funding of the Dharma Inititiative Island experiment.

You will find strange mention of genetic manipulations, life extensions and other forms of mutations.
