Im ok with IT PARK area ... in the middle of Cebu City .
I want to experience it this summer so bad ... the last time I did trekking was in Mt. Hibukhibuk in 1993 . Jungle survival course in 2001 .
@ APACHE , I suggest also that we get oriented prior to the actual activity which is the theory and the actual application on the day of the trek . I dont know about other people but I cant assessed myself if I am still capable of doing it but I am very interested .
Anyways , I wont make it this Sunday , too soon for me to know about it and I will be in Talisay for a family affair . Keep in touch , you have my number .

1993 and 2010 is a lot of years. We will take it one step at a time. One module at a time. I did Jungle survival course in 1993.
Sorry for making this abrupt. Following every organization's heirarchy of instructions, physical conditioning is the first priority. However we are not in a regimented organization like the mil, it is best we take it easy one step at a time.
But, time willing, we could organize our own set of programs and apply it in the field. This is not easy starting from scratch and I have faith in you guys that we help each other out to achieve this.
^^^^
All it needed was you opening it up . I was too keen in asking around peeps who are into WILDERNESS ADVENTRUE and here we are people showing up sharing the same interest . Thank you for that .

That is a cool looking knife Jing. I like the look of pure function it has. My favorite knife is a No frills Green River Knive I have carried around the world for the past 22 years.
The neck sheath is made from raw hide taken from a dead horse found in the Utah desert, the neck loop in sewn to the sheath in a break away style.
The handle is made from walnut wood and I have burned a hole in it to use as a friction fire socket of "bearing block" as some folks like to call it.
anyhoo, here are a couple of pics.

I have posted a story about Jungle Wil and me practicing with the bamboo fire saw before we left for out visit to subic, and our Aeta friends.
you can read about it here on my blog; Tomahawks Adventure travel and survival in the august or sept archives(cant remember which).
In the mean time here are a few pics of Jungle wil banging it out.

Happy landing @Tomahawk. Your Green River knife is a veteran. I think I will make a neck sheath next time coz I left a lot of good knives in the comfort rooms...Ouch!!!
Jungle Wil coming soon and he will have a lot of bamboos to rub on with his new bionic heart. Hehehehe...
pinoyapache,
Just curious, why always the milled corn instead of rice? Is it just a matter of preference?
