This is obvious if you look at the responses, nearly all of them talk about China's threat as a superpower to the Philippines. You can say whatever you want that our country is not relevant to this topic, but everyone who responded has already made it clear that it is, so unless the purpose is not to have a discussion then it must be conceded that the Philippines is an issue here, to say otherwise is to render insignificant every response you've received thus far.

I stick to my argument. China's superpower status is not that important to the Philippines because we have other more pressing issues to worry about. But if you really want to know if I think they will be a superpower, I would have to say I don't know, but then add to that again my opinion that it doesn't matter. Superpower also has many connotations, if you mean only militarily then I would say that they already are because any country with nuclear weapons can stand up to the United States or threaten such massive devastation of their cities that it would make them think twice about intervening in any local wars, hence the reason Iran wants nukes, hence the reason the U.S. cannot force China out of Tibet and Xinjiang which for all intents and purposes are separate countries (historically).
Whoah. Talk about thread hijacking. Go take your topics elsewhere. Nowhere in the forum rules does it state that this is an exclusively 'Philippine politics' forum.

There's no need for rudeness, grow up.. I don't have time for your wild accusations, if you think its forum hijacking bring it up with the mods. You asked my opinion about China being the next superpower, and I gave it. Kung dili ka gusto i-link sa Philippine situation even though this is a Philippine forum thats your damn effin problem. You are not the thread master just because you started it.. but I suppose you already knew that.

Also where in my post exactly did I say you can only talk about Philippine topics? That's right nowhere, that's because you didn't read the post properly and just "read into it" things that are not there. What I said is that people expect threads here to pertain in some way to the Philippines, because most of us live here. Does that make sense to you? You should also realize that its acceptable to bring up the Philippines in relation to the topic, so long as it is tied in some way to the topic. That I have done. For you to demand that the Philippines never be brought up in your precious thread just because you don't want to talk about it is sheer arrogance. In any case I was originally responding to the other posters, not you save for that one post... so peace nalang!

China maybe the next super power but we must also take into consideration the strengthening regionalism among states...

    The EU and the ASEAN...

years from now i think state hegemony will be a thing of the past but a more systematic regional organization of states will be the trend...

China good contendender for the next superpower but i doubt mahimo sila #1 tungod sa political and economic challenges plus limited supplies of energy and raw materials, questions over its innovation capability, inequality and corruption, and risks to social stability and the environment issues.

Pero naa gihapon influence ang China sa US considering pila ka billions investment nila sa US and growing, kung modiversify sila ng investment elsewhere, mo-collapse ang value ng dollar ug mo trigger ug high inflation na maka-apekto sab sa ila stockmarket. enough na guro ni para maguba ang economy ng US ??

di na siguro nato i-apil ang Pinas kay wa na gyud ta chance magduha2x man gani ta mag nuclear energy. kahit man lang nuclear superpower lang ta.
