go,,go,,go,, Dallas!!!!!
Actually, most of the Phoenix Suns fans smelled Game 7 but the Mavericks proved it that it won't happen. The D is definitely in Dallas.
here's some interesting stories of some of the Mavs players:

- was the second option at center behind Zydrunas Ilgauskas (Cavs 01-05) averaged less than 10 mins/game
- was the "forgotten man" in the Cavs roster, got overweight and out of shape, was deemed a "bust" by critics.

Shut Up! Let your GAME do the talking!
mao ba? and certainly Diop is their "middle" man now (ambot si Dampier)... Reliable center kaayu... hehe
the only way for the mavs to win the series is to use their speed, they cant beat the heat kung mag hinay hinay sila, they gonna have to play run n gun.
first I dont think they can stop shaq, and who will stop wade terry? mura questionable, josh howard maybe. but we still dont know.
for me 50 50 . basta dili lang kapuyon ang mavs then the ring is on the bag,. og naa pay lain , they have to use the pick n roll more often kung mahimo kada play, we all know shaq is very poor in defending pick n rolls. mao gyud na iya weakness.
OMAD - you'd pick the MAVS in seven pero your analysis shows that the HEAT have no chance of winning.
You actually can't compare the Heat to the Spurs... Duncan has a different game (more finesse than power, mid range jumpshots) where the defense can work differently on him. Shaq has no mid-range jumpshots at all, he's brute strength. As far as WADE .... you really can't compare him to Manu and Parker. I mean, honestly... can Manu or Parker do the stuff Wade does?

"you're answer is as vague as any other coaches' in the league.. I can't blame you.. nobody can give a decent answer to the question I posed.. "
... do you really think MIAMI's not gonna double team him?? He's a hard guy to defend against... he's tall yet fast and he can score just about anywhere. He's Riley's biggest problem.
---
"same as Duncan.. the Mavs were in foul trouble the whole series with the Spurs 'coz of Tim.. that's expected.. that's what I've been harping on in all of my previous posts in this thread. Shaq will get his 20-25 and Wade will get his 25-30, I already laid that out openly, but who's the next in line that's consistent in the Heat line-up? "
That's pretty much like "who's next to DIRK in the offense" .... There's Stackhouse, Terry, Howard, etc.. they're as inconsistent (and also has the potential to be big factors) as Walker, Williams, Payton, Mourning (he compensates his offense with the defense he puts in), etc...
Why pamper life's complexities when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat?
OMAD - you'd pick the MAVS in seven pero your analysis shows that the HEAT have no chance of winning.EZRA - the seven games is more out of respect for Shaq and Wade. I didn't count out the intagibles, they both have heart, Shaq's got the experience and the will to prove all his critics (Lakers management) that letting him go was a big mistake. that's a motivation on it's own.. thus the 7 games.

'coz we can't really compare individual talents specially in the NBA, there's this reality though that a certain individual would give you fits on defense. besides, it's just a way to expound on my point that if the Mavs can limit Shaq and Wade below their playoff averages they have a good shot in winning this series and vice versa with Dirk and Josh for the Heat. this is where the supporting cast comes in and make a difference and eventually wins the series.

Josh Howard is not inconsistent based on his performance in the playoffs. he was the Spurs match-up problem in their series and he was the Suns nightmare in theirs. granting that Shaq-Wade will get their points as well as Dirk-Josh, they would just cancel each other out. please look closely on the box score after every game and I'm pretty confident that whichever team's supporting cast shows-up on those would be the winners.

This still doesn't explain your prior statements showing that MAVS will clearly overpower the HEAT. If I made those statements myself, I wouldn't give the HEAT a single game (based on your match-up summary).. not even out of respect.

As far as scoring goes... it goes to about every other team, they have their leading scorers, their role players, etc.... but the way a player score is different. That's why you can't compare the Heat and the Spurs, Duncan to Shaq. A team's defense responds differently to different offenses.. Shaq's and Tim's offense are different from each other.

The supporting casts are simply SUPPORTING CASTS ... a Team's offense evolves around their star player. Ang advantage sa Miami is they have 2 star players who are very consistent as far as scoring goes. The Mavs has one... bisag unsaon nimog argue nga si Howard can steup up.. he's not as consistent, he's not the main focus of their offense. Howard, Terry, Stack is as dependable as Payton and Walker. They will have their days... and they will have off-days.
The main that's really going on for MAVS is the depth of their supporting cast... a lot of those players have the ability to raise their game. Miami don't have that luxury... at least not enough as far as point production goes.. but they can cover that up with their defense.

kinsa man pud maayo gyud modepensa sa heat aside ni payton and mourning, nga naa na sa twilight sa ilang career? walker? williams? wade? nga naa man gani rumors nga wade will be joining kobe in his summer training sessions to improve his defense. hehehe... posey is a decent defender, and also haslem... pero dili sila ang mobantay sa backcourt sa dallas... i.e. terry, howard, harris and stackhouse.

If I made those statements myself, I wouldn't give the HEAT a single game (based on your match-up summary).. not even out of respect.let's put it in perspective: whatever stats, data or averages I based my opinion on both teams, - there are still intangibles - and we can't measure those. I am in favor of the Mavs as far as winning the series based on the stats in my previous arguments but that doesn't mean those numbers will win them the Championship outright, after all is said and done, the game is yet to be played. a lot of stuff can happen, just as the cliche' goes "lingin pa ang bula" otherwise we'll just hand over the Larry O'Brien trophy to the Pistons for winning 64 in the regular season.. but that's not how it works. besides, I'm tired of going to the airport (Love Field) walking blocks upon blocks from the parking lot to the Mavs private hangar waiting for their arrival after the wins against the Spurs and the Suns. I wanted them to win all the marbles at home (game 7) for once this playoffs given the Finals set-up 2-3-2. I picked them to win in 6 against the Suns but I'm more conservative in my prediction against the Heat... but don't get me wrong, I'll gladly take it if they win in Miami in 5...

That's why you can't compare the Heat and the Spurs, Duncan to Shaq. A team's defense responds differently to different offenses.. Shaq's and Tim's offense are different from each other... yes I already stated the fact that Shaq and Tim are different animals to compare as far as talents go as well as Wade with Parker and Manu. but for argument's sake - I did - so it would be easier on my part to explain that Shaq won't have Tim's offensive output of about 33 ppg in their series with the Mavs, do you agree? same as Wade's (28 ppg ave in the playoffs) output, he may have a couple of 40+ points games in this series and maybe end up with a 35 ppg average thus the Manu (21 ppg) and Parker (20 ppg) comparison. granting that those stats hold, it would just cancel each other out. that's why I said that the supporting cast would play a big role in this series. Shaq (20 ppg) and Wade (28 ppg) can do their thing as well as Dirk (28 ppg) and Josh (19 ppg) but they would need their role players to contribute to have the edge over the opposing team.

I beg to disagree, 19 ppg average for Josh Howard the whole playoffs is not considered inconsistent. that would be Walker's (11 ppg) and Payton's (7 ppg) averages combined. as far as star players are concerned, yes, Miami has the advantage (Shaq and Wade) but just remember that it's not a guarantee that the more star players you have, you'll be automatic to win it all ie Lakers in 04 (Shaq, Kobe, Malone, Payton etc etc) lose against Detroit.
