while I was reading this, I remembered last night in discovery channel about the speed of rotation of the earth, as well as how the moon was created and how close the moon was from the earth...

as far as I've seen last night, the hour per day before was 6 hours. Year, said by narrator, was constant as it rotate around the sun, but hours/day was changing.. around 4 billion years ago, maybe million.. medyo dili clear ang sulti sa narrator and I was sleepy...

noh? so if this is true, basin mao ni sya ang reason why people in the biblical times lived for 500 years and more...coz paspas ra ang rotation sa earth then... pls enlighten me for those who know. i've always been curious about how they managed to live for a very long time.

IMHO, simple reason why people lived longer before:

very minimal pollution, no insecticide, less meat, more exercise..
and of course less developed killer virus, and if naa'y virus,
dugay pa mo-spread due to "no airplane, more walk" travels..

unlike karon, pila ka oras lang, abot na og lain country..

like what happened in SARS or even Swine Flu.. paspas ni-spread..

btw, about biblical times, microseconds ra siguro ang change from their time to ours coz it took million of years for us to have 24hours / day from 6hours/day.. IMHO..

IMO, rotation of earth wouldn't affect the health or life expectancy of human race.. I haven't read any articles about it anyways, so correct me if I'm wrong.. if we go biblical, then that's another story...

im not talking about life expectancy. what i was trying to say was if the rotation of the earth was way faster before compared to now, then it means they have shorter days and nights. how long does their day last? we all know that we have 24 hours in a day now. so following that thought, if they count their days the same way we do now, then they would definitely live to be 500 or so. am i making sense?

Where did you get the data regarding 500 year old humans? If that's from the Bible, then please read the subforum rules and regulations regarding this matter.
