OMAD.. I read that.. pero there's a lot more to it than that. Imo sang i-consider nga the Fouls SHAQ is gonna draw from the defenders. Dirk is gonna be involved in the double-teaming.. who's gonna be the center? DIOP? VAN HORN? Do they really have a strong enough defender to hold back SHAQ? remember.... PISTONS got BEN WALLACE and then some.. (it didn't seem to work on last night's game 6).
DIRK won't also have that much of clean looks on the basket with the Heat's zone defense... and he cannot play the same intensity throughout the duration of the game. Sa series nila karon sa SUNS, he's not really consistent. His mid range shots are gonna be contested most of the time by good defenders.. sa Heat and Pistons GAME 6 .. POSEY was a big factor sa defense sa Heat.. if he can keep that up, dako sab nang pangutana.

As far as the MAVS supporting cast.. Stackhouse will have his hands full with WADE. Actually, all of them will have their hands full with WADE.... the rest of the cast (Harris, Howard, Terry, etc..) I think the Heat are well-equiped to handle them defensively.

To sum it up: Both teams have their strengths.. and both also have weaknesses. The key players, if they'll have a good night.. they can take over the game. Both team's offense relies on a couple of guys on their team (most of the time) .. sa defense lang gihapon daogon.. but I'd say the HEAT has a tighter defense than Dallas.

PISTONS got BEN WALLACE and then some.. (it didn't seem to work on last night's game 6).EZRA.. that's what I emphasized earlier in my posts, they can start Dirk at center and Powell at forward but have him take on SHAQ the first 4-6 minutes in the game. he's got 6 fouls to give right? and then substitute Dampier and Diop right after Powell exits, have them foul SHAQ also, then have Mbenga help them the entire game. that's 24 fouls all in all, and we know SHAQ's percentage at the free-throw line. this would disrupt the Suns offensive rhythm if they can foul SHAQ before he dribbles and just be sure he won't have and-one situations.

DIRK won't also have that much of clean looks on the basket with the Heat's zone defense... and he cannot play the same intensity throughout the duration of the game. Sa series nila karon sa SUNS, he's not really consistent.C'mon.. 11 pts in game 4 was it. that was even the lowest production that broke his 42 games streak of 20 or more points and he's averaged 29+ pts the whole playoffs (Grizz/Spurs). consistent??.. you're kidding me right? I can argue that the Spurs has a better zone defense than the Heat do you agree? but why did they scrap it? 'coz it would have created a lot of mismatches when you defend a team such as Dallas. so are we gonna argue that Pop made the wrong decision? 'coz I think he's logged a million hours as a head coach with 3 rings along the way and the closest thing we both have in terms of basketball is "playing intrams/liga, reading the news and watching the games live a couple or so a year" and that's it. it would be exciting to see how Pat's scheme would work against the Mavs in the Finals, if ever they (Mavs) win against the Suns..

His mid range shots are gonna be contested most of the time by good defenders.. sa Heat and Pistons GAME 6 .. POSEY was a big factor sa defense sa Heat.. if he can keep that up, dako sab nang pangutana.Posey? defending Dirk? let's compare him to Bruce Bowen, is he scrappier than Bowen? quicker? better defensively? Bowen was a best defensive player once or twice and he constantly is a member of the NBA's all-defensive team for how many years.. 4?(3 second team and 1 first team) and what did Dirk do to him? just averaged 27+ points a game the whole series.. Haslem? Walker? Mourning? tell me who among the Heat's line-up can defend Dirk much better than Bowen and I'll concede..

Actually, all of them will have their hands full with WADE.... the rest of the cast (Harris, Howard, Terry, etc..) I think the Heat are well-equiped to handle them defensively.... that's what I said earlier when i wrote that Wade can get his 25-30 pts, but if he only delivers less than 20 every game, the Heat is in trouble. you know why? Avery would see to it that the rest of the guys (Heat) won't score their playoff averages. he let Tim, Manu and Parker have their way with the Mavs in their series and most of those times the Spurs lost the game 'coz the other players weren't there to contribute.
    game 2 game 3 game 4 game 7
    manu 13 24 26 23
    tony 15 15 33 24
    tim 28 35 31 41
    ------ ------ ------- -------
    56 74 90 88

just check those stats and tell me where the Heat will get those productions. and compare the Heat's and the Spur's other contributors, from there I'll tell you the Spurs are much better as a team compared to the Heat.

To sum it up: Both teams have their strengths.. and both also have weaknesses. The key players, if they'll have a good night.. they can take over the game. Both team's offense relies on a couple of guys on their team (most of the time) .. sa defense lang gihapon daogon.. but I'd say the HEAT has a tighter defense than Dallas.
give me your honest opinion, compare the Spurs line-up with the Heat's, who's better defensively? who's better offensively? and then we'll continue this discussion...

You base your opinions on Dallas' performance against the SPURS where DALLAS almost lost (a couple of those games could've went the other way). If you base it on that, I'd say the MAVS were lucky to went to win that series.
Unfortunately, Basketball doesn't work that way.... just because a certain team performed that way against another they would also perform the same way against another team.

You're asking who could do a better job than Bowen at defending Dirk... maybe Mourning... maybe not. But, one thing for sure is that the one defending Dirk is gonna get help.

    ----

I don't think Heat's defense against Nowitzki is as much of an issue compared to the MAVS' defense against SHAQ and WADE. Especially SHAQ since the MAVS seems to have a bit of trouble against low post players (DUNCAN totally outplayed DIRK in almost all their games in that series). Agreed that SHAQ doesn't shoot the free throw as well as Duncan but the fouls he's gonna pull from the MAVS will be valuable.

    -----

Anyhow... these are all opinions... maybe after game 1 between Mavs and Heat we can have more facts to base on. But as of the moment, the MAVS has to eliminate the SUNS before everything else.

and so is the suns... don't you think nga mas swerte ang suns kaysa dallas? they survived two game 7s. pildi na gyud unta sila sa lakers pag game6 adto nga series... dallas has two big men who can bang-up with o'neal up front... and remember, oneal is not as unstoppable as he is before... during his glory days... and kinsa man maka pugong sa dallas backcourt? si terry, harris, and howard? si payton ug sa wade? payton is not as good defensively as he is before... dili na na kabantay sa crossover ni devin harris uy... si wade? he is not exceptional in defense...

Paita... SUNS lost the same way as Game 5. Â*Nawagtang ang Focus sa late quarters. Â*Kadako sa labaw, naapsan pa. Â* Could've been a more competitive series ug naa si Amare.

Miami vs Mavs.. !!!! Andam mga tiguwang!
