For those who haven't seen this video yet...this is my Derrick...the omega of the pack...totally "bayot" and a drama queen! He is a rescue from "death row" in the States. His mom, Lala, a beautiful pit bull was an evidence dog who was confiscated from her breeder who was arrested for abuse. When the dog pound/shelter in Los Angeles found out she was pregnant, after being in the shelter for two months, they decided to kill her. Fortunately for great animal loving people in Los Angeles, they contacted me when I was with Fresno Bully Rescue and my co-board member and I drove for three hours to save Lala. Derrick was born under our care and he was the runt and for obvious reasons the only one among his four surviving littermates to look very different and with special needs. I decided to adopt Derrick and make him a member of my pack with Chimal being his "yaya." Chimal is the beta of our pack and very nurturing. In his 1 year and 4 months with us, he broke his shoulder, almost died cuz of stomach blockage (he ate a sock!), and broke his left leg! Derrick as a puppy had no muscle mass and we thought he wouldn't make it. When we arrived in Cebu on Dec. 1, he sprained his toe during his first week here. Derrick now is getting strong and tall with muscle mass. We call him our "pithuahua" because he looks like a giant chihuahua with his huge ears! Enjoy...
