@che(k_afss , i agree ... pareho ra ta nanginabuhi ... its just a matter of digging deeper as to what a call center agent's life would be when he / she wake up, i myself am from a BPO industry, been there done that as an agent, not being easy to be shouted at by customers, with all the profanities in the world mangawas gikan sa mga customer, and the night shift , dili parehas ang tulog sa night ug sa day.

with these factors, coupled with racism remarks from customers when they know that you are from the philippines or from asia, triggers a psychological problem, i for one have experienced being shouted at and lisod if di nimo mapagawas imong kapungot, i've seen agents na tungod sa ilang kapungot mohilak na lang. I mean , yes we might not be as "professional" as teachers , military and police... come to think of it, dili man mga private companies ang responsible sa compensation with teachers, military, police, nurses, doctors and the like, its the government ... but then that is another story

the bottom line of this thread? dili ra call center agent ang dako ug sweldo. never stereotype based on how people speak nor dress in public. all in all every cent nga gidawat nato tanan sa atong mga trabaho, gihago-an nah it's just that mas may kaya lng ang uban company nga mobayad ug dako para sa ilang empleyado.

ayaw mo pag hinilas ug sweldo diri kay ug buot lng huna2x-on, wala nag hinilas ang mga nag sweldo ug 100k diri. ky ug sila imong pa storyahon ani, ingnon ra mo "unya nakita sa inyong buhat ang dapat nga sweldo nga e bayad ninyo?"

again, when it comes to sweldo...

its all about attitude. dont think highly of yourselves (addressed to no one) because you are not the one feeding me or anyone else. well, except for those who benefit from our tax deductions.

    why?
    - higher health risks. Most Agents start on graveyard shifts. You are basically robbed of your normal life. You work when everyone else is sleeping, and sleep when everyone is awake. You drown yourself on coffee to stay away every night. And if you're out of luck and got assign to costumer service, you have to endure idiotic questions from clients, listen to them whine, curse at you being a good for nothing third world citizen and worse part is you have to stay composed and suck it all up.

And let's not depreciate our ability to speak english. Its something we should be thankful for.

Fresh grads chose to be agents out of necessity.
Those few who become teachers, policemen, engineers chose it out of PASSION.

    Do they deserve better salary?
Yes, they do but we can't alway get what we want. Its the same all over the world, those who work under the government has lower salary than those who work under private companies.

come on. Why do we always put blame on the government? Remember we are the ones who voted on who runs it. Im not denying that there is a problem in our government... but always protesting about it does not help AT ALL! Why can't we see the positive side of things and appreciate the efforts of those GOOD MEN WHO WE ELECTED.

Call center employees are paid well because they're good.
Talking English sa kapareha pinoy doesn't mean nanghinambog.. It's just one way to practice/master their english skills to make them even more competitive sa ilang trabaho.

Like i said. and Ill say it again. Wala ko against sa call center business.

Yes naka contribute but dili maoy reason.

Yes I will agree dapat dako mog sweldo, kay dili local ang inyo market. So dapat lang dako ug sweldo.

So way lalis...
