Why are call center agents paid better than others?

we are paid higher because our clients are from the US or UK.. and i think this is fair enough, since dli pod baya lalim ang work nan mga cc agents.. maybe makita ninyo pa easy2x lang ang mga agents, coffee2x etc., 8s a way for them to unwind after a stressful week of work...

I dont agree.. call center agents is not the business thats running cebu, yes some but not all. And even if walay call center sa cebu. Ayala terreces and sm northwing would still be there. Nidatu ang cebu tungod daghan ug datu sa cebu and dili pa kaau kawatan ang atong mayor dili tungod sa call center.

FACT gyud ni na input ..investment na gipasulod sa call centers wala ka one ka 1/8 sa investment na gipasulod sa carmen copper mining corp, sa toledo power and seri mining... so please erase intawn na sa inyong huna huna na kamo ang nagbuhi sa cebu, ni contribute ra mo. and plese dont brag about your salaries kay if compare na sa mining firm sweldo na sa ultimo!!

honestly, dili modesty aside one week ra tawn na namo na sweldo ang inyong salary for the month.

Call center agents dili maoy nakapanindot sa economy sa cebu! Nindot na ni da an before pani ni sulod. So please ayaw intawn mog claim. your misinformed.....

All Engineers (exempted ang ECE, comp E, ug EE) kay dili unta mag call center, gawas lang sa following reasons:

masakiton ka, na dili ka pwede mu trabaho ug planta (hubakon)
bayot ka.
ganahan ka mahimong sosyal (english 1, 2, 4 ug 23 ra ang dako nemu ug grado katong nag eskwela paka, hangbong ka sa thermodynamics, strength of materials)
wala ka kauyab katong college paka (mu angkon gyud ko na daghan guwapa sa callcenter)
dili ka kabaw mo diskarte (dika kabaw mang apply)

last bayot gyud ka ( dika ganahan ma abugan, dili ka ganahan ma initan, dili ka ganahan mo compute kay mas prefered nemu ang mag ininglis)

AIDS is more of personal. and it's not because of working in a CC that you get AIDS, its YOU making your BIGA control over your senses. so don't tag it on CC agents or on the industry itself..

now if you see these CC agents sitting in a coffee shop talking english to fellow Pinoy > that's what you call social climber or your trying too hard to fit in sis

i would have totally agreed with this post but reading the last part seems to have irritated my eyes.. and you even have the nerve to close your post with NO PUN intended? we CC agents dont mind criticisms especially terms like you use SIR.. SOCIAL CLIMBER? HARD TO FIT? do you even know at all what made those people get their fat paychecks?

just to enlighten those who have the same perception as this MISTER have on CC agents who talk english regardless of where they are at..... THEY GET PAID AND THEY GET TO KEEP THEIR JOBS BECAUSE THEY TALK ENGLISH. AND THEY PRACTICE IT MORE OFTEN THAN NOT BECAUSE THEY WANT TO LEARN. and if you get to notice as well.. they talk English with fellow CC workers or perhaps to those who can SPEAK AND UNDERSTAND the language as well.

say you are a CC agent who is dead serious of the job to compensate the daily needs, you talk to an American and tell you out from Pandora's Box...... OH MY GOD! I DIDNT KNOW MONKEYS CANT SPEAK ENGLISH? what would you feel? well this maybe the stage where determination is really scaled on individuals, for some with low self-esteem....... probably will cry and cry and cry... and the next day... KWARTA mn gyd. PANGINABUHI.

Do you happen to know why na dungog ang cc ana dria cebu? Because there was an agent, who was vocal enough to share his story with the media... And FYI during the interview, ingon xa maski kinsa ra ang iyaha na partner.. so meaning, dli ra sa kani cc na industry ang naay AIDS... and that person is even an active member of a said AIDS organization dria sa Cebu.. dong, with all due respect with your post.. do not underestimate people regardless of how much their pay is.... ang kalidad sa taw wala gisukod sa kung unsa siya manulti... naa sa lihok ug kugi. basin dili unya ka katingog ug kapanghambog sa imong sweldo kung itapad tika ug college undergrad pero MANAGER sa call center earning enough to raise a family nga bisag 12 p k buok anak kaya pa skwelahon tanan. so if i were you, make your words soft and sweet just in case you need to swallow them. the way you made your posts doesnt even show your worth the money your earning kung tinuod mn nga dako ka ug sweldo kaysa ni tagpolano ug tagpolana diri.

i am working as a call center agent right now...why i took the job?
REASONS!
1. bata pako ( fit pa para mag graveyard shift..wa pay problema sa highblood ..physically fit body and mind)
2. Call centers are always hiring ( took me 9 tries para ma hire)
3. pobre ko gusto madato (kinsay supak ana?)( mangandoy tawn ta ..bata paman ,libre mangarap)
4. 3rd yr College ra ...naka undang kay way kwarta (save ta para mahuman skwela)
5. take advantage sa dakong sweldo (kwarta !mao nay rason nga nagtrabaho)
6. Wa nay parents si ermat ug erpat gauna sa heaven( Maguwang pd tawn ko)
7. being pro actively independent ( oh kinxa man di ganahan ana ?)
8. first step for my dreams (naka palit kog mga butang nga pag bata pa jud ko nangandoy)!

Accomplishments
1. naka skwela ko balik!
2. ako na hatag allowance sa nagskwela kong mga igsoon
3. helping paying bills for the house
4. bought items for self pleasure
5. improve2x na ang english pd (sauna cge nosebleed)
6. wa pay uyab (aw dili diay ni apil)
7. naka palit ug camera (hilig ko photography since bata pa .Now im planning to start a business with it )
8. naa nay bank account (in case of emergency lang bah)
9. now living on my own expenses

pareho raman siguro tag rason nga nagtrabaho ta..! I admit di pod ko mag dugay call center kay dili ni nga job ako gi dream ...programmer or graphic designing ako ganahan .pero di sa ko ana until i get my masters degree..TIMAN-E regardless sa imong trabaho bzta nakay plano! OK KA PARTS >.,<for those people nga nasuya sa mga CC agents aka social climbers aka english paka bisaya diay aka EASY2x aka AIDS aka COffee drinkers AKA SMOKERS AKA ONGO..all i can say is "mao na ang culture sa call center " if you hate it ..its your damn problem!!!

so let's say for example I did not graduate college because my parent's cannot afford it unlike you, but I am receiving 47k/month because I work as an account manager in a CC.

Issue:
Engineer salary = ?

Given:
one week ra tawn na namo na sweldo ang inyong salary for the month.
CC salaray: 40k
1 month = 4 weeks (duh!!)

Solution:
CC salary x 4weeks(1 month) = Engineer Salary

Conclusion:

call center job aint a high paying job it's only above minimum wage.. og moingon gani ka og high paying job kanang mag sweldo na ka month og 50K pataas....
