    Default Symantec Announces 'Norton 360'

    >>Symantec Press Release: http://symantec.com/about/news/relea...id=20060531_01

They just announced that their upcoming consumer all-in-one PC security service will be branded 'Norton 360'. What the hell? How original. When will Symantec realize that changing a product name like that (trying hard to be cool) ain't gonna change the fact that Norton is a pile of stinking horse sh!t.

Norton for home users might be a pile of sh*t but they are the best Enterpirse AV out in the market

^^I have nothing against their Enterprise products, it's the Norton line that bugs me (makes you wonder if they are being coded by a bunch of retards).

Every single day, we get customers bringing in their laptops/PCs to us and complain that ever since they purchased and installed Norton Anti-Virus/Internet Security (Insert Version here) on their systems from a retail shop, it no longer connects to the internet and now very slow, and no longer doing this, no longer doing that..... yada yada yada.

So we then explain to them that they have 2 options:
Option 1: "We get rid of your Norton and install a proper anti-virus called NOD32 or if you want a full on Internet Security, then we can install Trend Micro PC-Cillin Internet Security for you".

Option 2: "You can keep your Norton and make your system work, but you gonna have to install more RAM on your system otherwise it will just crawl with Norton on it".

A typical response from that customer is usually something like: "LOOK! I just paid heaps of money for Norton, I don't wanna buy anymore software or hardware. I just want Norton installed and make my system fast again without paying anything more!".

Another thing that really bothers me with Symantec is that we got programmers and system administrators here at work that actually beta test their software and actually sends feedback to Symantec through email. But they don't listen to their customers, the only thing you'll get back is a generic email reply saying this:

"Norton Internet Security is the most popular security solution in the world. We thank you for your continued support".

Its better if you guys preinstall Nod32 for them.. i think nod32 is even cheaper than norton. Even PLDT uses Nod32 for thier servers
