Pretty much the same nominees from the Globes. I'm glad Sandra Bullock earned a nod, always thought she was a tad bit underrated. Cristoph Waltz has to win an Oscar, he was just awesome in Basterds.

yeah yeah..i agree..but anyways, it was a good showdown..
Predictions (not really my preference):
Picture: lisod ni nga category but it will eventually boil down to The Hurt Locker and Avatar (but for me, the Best Picture of the year is THE WHITE RIBBON). It will depend pa on Oscar campaign. bwahaha
Actor: Jeff Bridges (lock in na)
Actress: Sandra Bullock (for a sappy average film, but you know the Oscars. Long-overdue? A-la Julia Roberts (Erin Brockovich) and Gwyneth Paltrow (Shakespeare in Love)... hehe)
Supporting Actor: Christoph Waltz (another lock-in)
Supporting Actress: Mo'Nique (another super lock-in)
Director: Kathryn Bigelow (She won DGA and will be the first female Oscar best director)
Original Screenplay: Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker) (Inglorious Basterds is another favorite but since Tarantino is not a member of the WGA it decreases its chances. hahaha)
Adapted Screenplay: Up in the Air (unless it will be upset by the current dispute on credited writers)
Cinematography: Avatar (but I would love to see The White Ribbon win, though it's not like a Bela Tarr film, it's stunning in black and white)
Editing: The Hurt Locker (though dako pog chances ang Avatar ug District 9)
Art Direction: Nine (kay tagaag chance para at least naay win... hahaha)
Costume Design: Young Victoria (Would love to see Bright Star win, underrated amazing movie, amazing costumes)
Make-up: Star Trek (I love Il Divo but it will be given to this movie para naay win... heheeh)
Original Score: Up
Original Song: The Weary Kind by T-Bone Burnett and Ryan Bingham (an early favorite)
Sound Mixing, Sound Editing, Visual Effects: Avatar na tanana. Hala hakota.
Animated Feature Film: Up (maskig mas nindot pa ang Fantastic Mr. Fox ug Coraline. Even ang Ponyo ug Mary and Max)
Foreign Language Film: The White Ribbon
Documentary Feature: The Cove
Ang mga categories for shorts I will not dare predict kay wa koy nakit-an nor read about them..
So there ya go!
Congratulations to all the winners nalang daan. Also, congrats to Transformers aka Trannies Too for the Razzies and kudos to Sandra Bullock for being such a good sport.![]()
^^
Sandy Bullock is always a good sport, and I love her for that.![]()
I was rooting for The White Ribbon to win everything it's nominated.
Best Foreign Language Film for El Secreto de sus Ojos? Of the nominees I've seen (haven't seen Ajami yet) it's probably the weakest.
Aw hinoon panagsa raman sila mo-award sa truly deserving...
And Best Cinematography for Avatar? Oh well -- whatever...
So much love for The Hurt Locker. I'm thinking it's going to win Best Pic...
