hi! im new w/ sound set-up. i need advice. i have a 4channel amp., im using 2 channel for my front seps. speaker. Can i use the 2 remaining channel for my sub.? its 12in. DVC w/ impedance: dual 4ohms, series 8ohms, parallel 2 ohms. normal power is 140watts and peak is 280 watts. wat does impedance mean? how will i wire this to my amp.?

    thanks in advance.

    Good day sir!

you've got a very good inquiry.

Danish Acoustic pristinium is one of the best sounding
separates in the market. it has been launched last
2007(singapore), and has been reaping awards both from
local enthusiasts and abroad as well.

Personally, I am accustomed to Focal Speakers, and am
quite familiar how Focal speakers sound, from polyglass
to the kevlar series. Focal Speakers are malambing,
sweet sounding, detailed, and needs some help or
boosting on the midrange or midbass frequencies.

For the Danish Acoustics pristinium, I was literally
taken to another world of sonic euphoria. they sound
analog (natural), has a strong accurate midbass,
with a very detailed and open midrange,
and the highs are just right.

Danish Acoustics pristinium are Very nice sounding set of separates that would
give Focal Kevlars (or any speakers of its class),
a run for its money. Danish Acoustics
can literally go head to head and
even toe to toe with them.

guess this seps would cost around 27 to 29K...
the Focal Kevlar series start at 36K.

for more info, and if you'd like to listen to a
    danish Acoustic system.

    Call jino of Audioevolution(audevo) 09173275818.
He has installed the Danish Acoustics Pristinium
in his car, and I guess he's the only one
in cebu pa... He is more than willing to let you
    hear his system.

    enjoy the day sir!

    IMPEDANCE FAQ
    by Bruce Bartlett

Impedance is one of audio's more confusing concepts. To clarify this topic, I'll present a few questions and answers about impedance.

    WHAT IS IMPEDANCE?
Impedance (Z) is the resistance of a circuit to alternating current, such as an audio signal. Technically, impedance is the total opposition (including resistance and reactance) that a circuit has to passing alternating current.
A high impedance circuit tends to have high voltage and low current. A low impedance circuit tends to have relatively low voltage and high current.

I'M CONNECTING TWO AUDIO DEVICES. IS IT IMPORTANT TO MATCH THEIR IMPEDANCES? WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T?
First some definitions. When you connect two devices, one is the source(amplifier) and one is the load(speakers). The source is the device that puts out a signal. The load is the device you are feeding the signal into. The source has a certain output impedance, and the load has a certain input impedance.

A few decades ago in the vacuum tube era, it was important to match the output impedance of the source to the input impedance of the load. Usually the source and load impedances were both 600 ohms. If the source impedance equals the load impedance, this is called "matching" impedances. It results in maximum POWER transfer from the source to the load. In contrast, suppose the source is low Z and the load is high Z. If the load impedance is 10 times or more the source impedance, it is called a "bridging" impedance. Bridging results in maximum VOLTAGE transfer from the source to the load.

Furthermore, I understand that you have 4 channel amp, where 2 channels are still useable.
Try to check the wattage on your amp, if you will bridge the channels, and its corresponding impedance. dapat mag match ang impedance sa amp nimo ug sa sub nimo.

say for example if you will bridge your amp, then 2 ohms ang gawas, dapat ang wiring sa
DVC sub nimo dapat 2 ohms pud.

if dili pwede ma 2 ohms ang amp nimo, ug 4 ohms ra gyud siya kutob, wa may problema nga imong
i.wire imong sub through series nga 8 ohms lang. however in this regard, you will only be using half of your amp's optimum power...

thanks very much, k+solid, guess i made the right choice
ordered the pristinium 3 way, semi active,
i also learned that DA sprkrs have 1 of the best passive xover...
cant wait to install these babies,,,

    >> You definitely made the right choice sir! wow, a 3 way DA system. hope i can have the opportunity to audition them someday.

yep, you're right. DA has one of the best passive xover. if i'm not mistaken, they are using mundorf capacitors, which is one of the sought after capacitors in the market.

by the way, what amp are you planning to pair with your DA's?
