    yup too much can cause conflicts. they can detect each other as malware, and it also eats up a lot of resources.

    I use avg + windows defender. avg is a hog though so its only recommended for "kusog" pcs. and with those 2 only, you should know how to determine whether something is safe to open or not. When an attack is imminent (e.g. infected usb drive, important file that got infected), I have comodo firewall and defense+. I run it on demand only so it doesnt run all the time. Its on full paranoid mode and it asks me everything it does.

    so far ive been running 24/7 with internet connection for a 2 years and now still running great. i've been attacked but they were never successful.

    the best antivirus is the user itself. If the user knows what a virus looks like, and he knows how to identify one, you will pretty much survive without the need of any antivirus. But if the user does not know much, when a good antivirus detects a virus and the user doesnt know what to do (e.g. allowing anything the firewall brings up), the a/v or firewall is of no use...

    @c_cebrecus fortunately i've deleted some files of mcafee. what's left are these shext.dll and shextres.dll files. it says it's copyrighted blah so i can't delete them. they're not malicious files bro so i don't think i need microsoft removal tool.

    @marv25 that's great bro.
    i uninstalled my spyware terminator and comodo boclean already 'cause they take so much memory. now i'm currently uninstalling my mcafee for NOD32.

    Be proactive when you are browsing the internet and you don't need any of that. I haven't used any antivirus or anti-malware on any of my personal Windows PCs for years. However, I do put Microsoft Security Essentials on PCs of friends, but that's about it.
