I prefer to be more spiritual than religious because you can be open minded with certain things that is taboo with religion.

The problem with that is that you have spirituality that is too arbitrary or too convenient for you. God is god. You cant change it. You cannot choose a spiritual that is deemed to be more convenient to you even if it does not lead you to the Absolute Truth.

guys, try also these. only wish to present how great thinkers think of their religion.

    by C.S. Lewis
"Mere Christianity" - it's a classic. do yourself a favor and read it!
"The Problem of Pain" - tries to answer the mystery of why God allows suffering

    by Peter Kreeft
"Handbook of Christian Apologetics" - gives you the answers for your questions on Christianity

    by G.K. Chesterton
"The Everlasting Man" - one of G.K. Chesterton's masterpieces

    by Fulton Sheen
"Peace of Soul" - not just for Catholics, but for anyone. Give it a try.
"The Life of Christ" - you've all read Dan Brown. Why not also hear what a very erudite man like Fulton Sheen has to say?

    I think I will.

Try googling Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell. Very insightful as well.
I know of Carl Jung but I have not read any of Joseph Campbell's...thanks for the lead.

Absolute Truth, very fine! The claim to it is not, it causes great evils to many aspects of humanity...history, politics, economics, religion,..etc. Absolute Truth is like God Himself. A claim to it is blasphemous and wishful thinking!
