Default What backup connection would you recommend?

I have PLDT dsl, but need a backup, independent of phone lines (wireless).
It does not need to be fast, maybe 1mbps is ok for that, but it must be unlimited.
    What would you recommend?

the way i understand it, you wanted to have a wireless connection that would serve as a backup. imho, copper lines are more stable that wireless lines. if you want a connection without a phone line, i think both bayantel and globe offer naked dsl lines (meaning no dial-tone/phone). although you could always go for the more expensive leased lines.

No, I need a backup which will work without a line.
When there is a brownout, the cabinets of the ISP are dead of course, so even when using a generator, I wont be able to use the internet.
    Not so with wireless...

sounds like globe tattoo or smart bro is your answer although I doubt if 3g internet will get you 1mbps in this country...

in our case, when we use the generator, we still get to be connected... I guess our set-ups are different then...

The problem is, when there's a power interruption, the PLDT cabinet also lost power, and the batteries in the cabinet are good for just 2 hours max. After that, all is dead. So it wont help when running a generator, I still would not have phone/dsl, thats why I was looking for something "wireless", independent of any wire/phoneline.
