we should vote straight for TEAM Mandaue guys! If we have a straight line up of councilors from the same party there is a guarantee that PROJECTS would really be implemented since there would be no more hindrances or persons from other parties that would block the projects from pushing through. In effect, the economic development of the city of Mandaue would really be smooth and fast. Thus, people of Mandaue could for sure enjoy the benefits of the projects awaiting to be implemented!

The Old Mandaue City College led by Dr. Paulus Canete and supported by Cong. Soon-Ruiz was operating illegally.


The courses that they offered, most specifically BS Nursing, BS ECE, BS CompE and all graduates and post-graduate courses, were found out to be sub-par to the standards established by the Commission on Higher Education which by the way has control over all learning institution be it private or public. As a result, students were asked to shift courses or transfer to another school. Unfortunately for the whole Nursing college, their only choice was Benedicto College. What a waste of time and money for these students. And who should take the blame?


In order to run a big school like this, the admin should have enough education and experience to handle such responsibility. Dr. Paulus Canete however, was found to be lacking the appropriate earned doctoral degree to run an HEI with at least five years of relevant administrative experience as required by CHED. The nerve to run such act. Maybe he was thinking he could get away with it knowing Soon-Ruiz got his back.


There was also improper documentation and liquidation of school fees and government funds. Huge amount of cash advances were unearthed. Seems like the school was used as a "milking cow" by the people who run it.


Thanks to the effort of Mayor Jonas Cortes, changes were made. Under a new administration, the NEW and improved Mandaue City College is the only local government higher institution in Mandaue city. All all seven areas of administration, faculty, instructional standards, physical plant, laboratory facilities, library, and curricula are now credited by CHED. .
