Sen. Manuel “Lito” Lapid, main author of Senate Bill 2361 or the Legal Assistance to the Poor Act of 2010, said once signed into law by President Arroyo, the measure would encourage more lawyers and law
firms to render pro bono services to poor clients who could not afford legal services by giving them tax credits in exchange for free assistance.

You know what? He doesnt know his own bill. I watched the lito lapid interview of ted failon/pinky webb over skycable dzrh (or was it dzmm) few weeks ago and questions were very basic....what if scenarios and role playing but all said was "pumunta na lang sila sa supreme court at itanong doon".
you cant even get a decent description from him of whats it all about. i can believe what i saw/heard. even pinky and ted. they even kept on playing "leon guerero" sa background and asked hima about his former leading ladies instead.
grabe, main author na gani siya sa bill, wala gyud siya kibalo. terrible. its all paperworks. true its credited to him but kudos to his staff. unlike the recent committee of teddy boy locsin/chiz escudero/biazon regarding the the comelec/poll automation....they asked the right questions, they really know their stuff.....even the technical details. they did their homework well. a stark contrast kay leon guerrero (in reference to the "legal assistance act to the poor")
and i think some of our senator are doing same things like the paper works.. i remember when i was at pampanga a year ago, it was happen nga amo contact ddto do-ol pod sa luwag sa mga politician...
and yeah ma o sad neh nga issue iya gi share bout lito lapid..
Senator vs governor
Lapid was an action star with a string of box-office hits before he entered politics. He served as provincial governor of Pampanga for nine years before winning a Senate seat in 2004.
Asked to compare his experience as a senator and a governor, he said: “When you are governor, you decide on your own. When you are in the Senate, you have to ask the decisions of [fellow] senators.”
Sen. Lito Lapid wants to be gov again - INQUIRER.net, Philippine News for Filipinos
He can be a barangay captain or at most a mayor... but a senator or congressman Definitely No! He only relies on his advisers in creating laws.....
balik na lang na sya executive bay. a gov or mayor might work for him. legislative a very no no...
