the cost is way too large for our country. there are more important things for our government to spend money on. i don't believe it is feasible to construct a bridge for bohol and cebu.

That's what I'm trying to point out. With a bridge to Bohol or to Negros, I could go as I please. That goes for commerce as well.

Reachable? ... Gibo even said it will not be completed in one term.... unless of course parliament na ta under ni Arroyo by then...
wow,,give them time,,if this would come true everybody will benefit from it,,,like SRP just you wait,,,its all just a matter of time....

The trans-central highway cost 373 Million pesos. ... that's a far cry from 50-68 Billion this bridge is going to cost the country.
It allowed interconnection between eastern and western part of Cebu and opened up Cities like Toledo and various other provinces to industries like ship building.

What about the Cebu-Bohol bridge? What real estate properties man ang imong ibaligya/lease? What areas/towns in bohol and respective industry will benefit from said project? What added benefit will a road network provide factoring in the cost of transporting goods via Roro or via the Road? Will volume of traded goods be enough to make land trip vs. roro more feasible?

Might I remind you that the cost for such a project would be around 50-68 BILLION Pesos... PLUS Operating Costs of maintaining the bridge

    1. Where will you source that kind of money and what collateral will you offer up for the loan?

    2. How will you convince private firms to invest in such a project with no direct revenue generators? Will you be asking for toll? How much?

    3. How much in Net benefits (tourism, trade etc) will be gained from such a project to link Cebu to the Northern part of Bohol? Will it be enough to recover the 50-68 BILLION peso investment?

Cost benefit analysis please..... istorya ra man na' imoha tanan.... Give us concrete facts and figures as to how the project is going to be accomplished?? Or si Gibo ra imo pa bahala-on ana tanan since salig na kaayo ka niya lol

    68 BILLION (68,000,000,000.00 PESOS)

This is an idealistic and unrealistic plan to bait idealistic and naive voters... period.
bai, relax lang. it seems wherever there's a thread mentioning gibo you can be clearly seen with your blood pressure soaring thru the roof. that's not good. hehehe. friendly advise lang. relax

i hit this thread after googling another bridge project...

    https://www.istorya.net/forums/politi...ow-open-2.html

first off, i haven't seen any article about your statement of a P68B projected cost for this project. please post it coz i might have just missed it. i rarely click beyond the first page of google's results page. tia. this is the latest that i have seen about this.

Cebu-Bohol bridge on track; $3M to fund study | Sun.Star Network Online

please do read that link coz it relates to your "Pag cost / benefit lagi" comment. that article clearly state that they are still at the feasibility study phase. not even that, they are still requesting funding to be able to proceed with the feasibility study. hopefully your "Pag cost / benefit lagi" will be answered soon. the bohol gov also mentioned the possibility of a build-operate-trasfer scheme so it might cost less for our govt.

i'm not holding my breath but i would love to see this bridge built..... probably not in my lifetime but my hope is to able to drive to anywhere in the philippines that or ride a train to anywhere in the philippines. do i think it's feasible, hell no but this here is a good start.

aside from the mentioned delivery of power/water and "driving to panglao" benefits there are intangible benefits arising from building such a bridge. this really is a good thing.

    don't be so negative people.

The Bohol governor believes the bridge project will improve commerce, technology sharing and the exchange of power and water between Bohol and Cebu.
    Conceived in 2006
Aumentado said the project was conceptualized in 2006 yet. But due to the lack of funds, the feasibility study was not started.
The 90-kilometer bridge’s construction is expected to cost at least P20 billion.
“Funding for the actual project implementation is not a problem.
Cebu-Bohol bridge on track; $3M to fund study
We can have it through BOT (build-operate-transfer) or a loan. But I prefer it done through a BOT,” Aumentado said.
