Hi all,

I attended yesterday's seminar-workshop for Health Informatics at Asian Institute of Management.

very promising kaayo ang Nursing Informatics na career. I got a chance to talk to the founder of PNIA or Philippine NUrsing Informatics Association. bago pa lng sila na establish infact 6 lang sila na Nurse Informaticist sa pilipinas. isa sa mga founder nila was the speaker sa workshop.

Sa US ang Nursing Informatics gamit na kaayo nila, an according to the experts, Nursing Informatics is a separate course na itake inmu after their BSN. Sa pinas gi incorporate na nila ang NI infact karon na syang summer iopen.

After the symposium may open forum with all the educators, dd2 na nanggawas. Daghan sa mga educators apprehensive na about sa NI this summer. Kay ang concern sa mga CI's and Deans is unsaon nila pag tudlo effectively ug Nursing Informatics nga pati sila wala sad kablo unsa jud ang buhaton sa nursing informatics. PLus nalibog sila kay ang Nursing Informatics is 3 unit course 2 units is Lecture and 1 unit is RLE. Question nila sa panel, unsaon nila ang RLE sa NI nga maski asa diria sa Pinas wala pay hospital nga gagamit ug programs for Health Informatics. so gool kaayo ang mga educators kung unsaon nila pag impart ug learning sa mga students about nursing informatics, tama sad sila lisod pud baya mag lecture na puros na lang "ASSUMING"

saon pud ning CHED, nag consult ba kaha sila sa board of nursing / PNA / ADPCN about this Nursing informatics. ngano most of the educators yesterday worried jud ug unsaon nila pag teach ug informatics.

Hopefully madayon ang plano sa Intel na magbuhat silag program na magamit sa mga skul para ma appreciate sa mga students ang NURSING INFORMATICS. We will have another symposium soon ana sila, next ituckle would be training trainers for teaching Nursing Informatics.

The Philippine Nursing Informatics
Association will have a meeting on March 6, Saturday at Glorietta
Mall, Makati. We would like to invite you to come or through web
conference. Suggested agenda includes:

1) Election of Board Members
2) Election of Officers
3) Drafting of Vision/ Mission
4) Priority Activities for 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarter of 2010
5) Calendar of Activities
6) Assignment of tasks

As this group is more of a community that a rigid organization, we
welcome all forms of feedback and comments.
