    @ saijo

    besides the nikon d5000 has no in-body motor, nikon d90 is a fast engaging dslr. believe me, youll need the rapid engaging on split-draw situations. it has also a sophisticated wireless commander for remote lighting (CLS). the viewfinder is pentraprism, brighter than usual pentamirror from others.

    d5000 is targeted for mid-level consumers while d90 is a higher-end.

    lastly, buy the most expensive you can afford.

    I have both cameras.
    I love both and I cannot say one is better than the other because they have different features.

    to name a few:

    D5000
    * light
    * swivel screen, a little smaller than D90, only 2.7" screen with 230,000 dots color (good for shooting low or over head angles)
    * a lot of presets, 19 to be exact (useful when you dont want messing around with the manual controls especially when you are very in a hurry to capture a moment.
    * slow(in terms of processing)
    * some editing features which D90 does not have
    * no built in motor? no big deal if you don't have old lenses you want to reuse. all new lenses now have built in motor anyways, a little expensive though.

    D90
    * a little heavy compared with D5000
    * CLS feature,(can remotely control a compatible nikon flash like sb600, sb900)
    * 3" screen 921,000 dots color
    * fast processing
    * this is what I love the most - extra controls for easy access to different adjustment like aperture, shutter, iso etc.
    * it feels balance when I mount a heavy and bigger lenses

    these are just some few features i used with both cameras.

    Sometimes its better to throw back these questions like:
    what do you need it for?( I know, photography but do you always want to carry it around?)
    which feature is important to you?
    what field of photography will you explore?
    the answer to these questions might help you guide your decisions.

    If I am to choose one, ill go for D90.
    And that is me, yours could be different.

    D90 has lots of simplified buttons when trying to change settings, while D5000 medyo daghan pa nga pindot2x...

    If money permits, go for D90, yaw na pangitag difference after all di na sya mahalon ug walay reason, but if ganahan kag mas cheaper adto sa D5000 stop worrying about Auto focusing issue with "AF" lenses, after all, almost all lenses nga bago karon are "AFS" naman which will Auto focus with D5000 (although mas mahal lang ang AFS compared sa equivalent AF lenses)...

    When i bought my D90, ako rajud gi-consider mao D90 ako gi-choose kay mas fit sa ako kamot (dako man kug kamot), pag try nako sa D300S mas samot ko ka libog kay mas fit sya sa ako kamot but since di man madala sa budget D90 nalang, and tell u, wa jud ko mag mahay.

    final words, between D90 & D5000 di jud ka magmahay ana, both of them are great gears.
