Hi...I am a pitbull lover as shown below. Meet my pack: Derrick and Chimal [both rescued from "death row" in the States], Barqs (3 y/o brindle APBT) and their "cousin" an honorary bully...Sumo the Chow-Chow! As you can see, they have been socialized since birth and honor their pack leader...me and Sumo's "parents" my nephew & niece.

Denver, Colorado and Miami, Florida have BSL. Pit Bulls are illegal and people had to either move out of the city or abandon their pitties just to be killed. The province of Ontario in Canada also has BSL. One can not even drive through these areas with pits.

But BSL is not the only cause of 125,000,000 + pit bulls and pit mixes being killed in the United States. Irresponsible pet ownership, dog fighting, back yard breeding, etc...are causes for these dogs ending up in the shelters. Dogs that are in the shelters in the U.S. only have six days before they are killed. Some are rescued from "death row" by wonderful rescue organizations like Fresno Bully Rescue, Villalobos Center, and BADRAP in California and the largest animal rescue in the United States called Best Friends Animal Society in Utah. BADRAP and Best Friends actually rescued Michael Vicks' fighting dogs and all have been rehabilitated and are adoptable now in the U.S. (except one who was euthanized and another who will be living in the Utah sanctuary for the rest of her life).
