Nope... I'm still with my Film SLR. but gusto sad nako og DSLR. I mean, practically speaking, You would get a lot of shoots using DSLR than film.. since gasto ang film gamay... ...I bought the film last year, because I want to have an slr no matter what. hahaha. plus it would be great sa collection nako as a Nikonian. hahaha... para sa ako-a, film slr is so special... super special... like, sa videographer pa. Super8 Vintage Camera Film is so special that costs a lot if naa'y special occasions. (like this : Jason Magbanua | Wedding Videographer Rates) tan-awa gani, add ons ang Super8 feature nila... and costs 75K. zooommgg!!!

anyway, unsa man gamit sa motor diay?! hahaha... thanks daan!

Note : I know naa'y dpreview and everything that can explain to me everything... pero lahi ra jud ang mga personal reviews like istoryans

Ani nalang, simple & less technical nga explanation afaik

-Kining mga karaan, cheaper, non-AFS lenses mo-autofocus ni sa D90 kay naa may focus motor ang D90.

-But di ni sila mo-autofocus sa D5000 kay wala may focus motor ang D5000. So mag manual focusing ra ka.

    Hope sabotabol ra..hehe

AF-S lenses are lenses with silent wave motor in it that is used to drive the lens for auto-focus. Paspas ni nga mga lenses mo focus ug hilom pud and some have internal focusing mechanism nga di na mo rotate ang front element which is good when you have filters in front like a circular polarizer that requires a steady position once ma set.

AF lenses nga walay silent wave motor in it requires a drive motor from the camera body.

The D90 drive motor have no use at all kung tanang lenses nimo AF-S na.
Your AF lenses also which does not have that silent wave motor or internal motor cannot auto focus sa D5000 nga walay drive motor.

For new Nikon lenses, AF-S na tanan kasagaran ang nang gawas and it is nice to have them kay paspas ang internal motor. During that time nga nag start pa ug pang gawas ning mga AF-S lenses, daghan gyud atat na atat maka AF-S kay hilom ug quick kaayo ang response during autofocusing.

You can still do manual focusing with AF and AF-S lenses. For AF lenses, you have to switch to manual focus using the camera option for manual focusing. Kung AF-S lenses, for some models, you can override right away without switching anything and some requires a switch on the lens itself.

hmm... AF lenses ba, meaning Automatic F lenses?!
Grabeha gud,,, so meaning, for example if kini akong lenses sa Nikon film slr camera, og e butang nako sa D90. di na sad ko mag manual focusing, kay naa na'y built in motor. wow! that's so great!

d90 nalang ui. i have a d5000 and right now i am pining for the more camera control buttons of the d90. hehe then there goes built-in autofocus which is really a plus kay ok ra bisag 50mm 1.8 AF ra imong prime lens. payts na au. then there's the lcd 3" with 920 dots. layo ra au ang sa d5000. and since you have old nikon lenses already.. then you're better off with d90.

Kung ang gamit nimo nga lenses sa film camera dili AF or autofocus nga lenses, that means manual focus lenses na sila. there's no way maka autofocus ka ana nila even on a D90 kay wala na silay autofocus coupling on the lens.
AF means "auto focus" which can be driven by a drive motor during focusing.
    MF means manual focus.

Ang D5000 Diwa Awardee ang D90 ambot unsay award, but this model is the preferred one.

Si bro tonyray had the same dilemma so he bought both D5000 and D90, he ended up trying to sell his D5000 and keepping the D90.

I have both the D90 and D5000. Unless your main priority is weight and the swivel LCD, get the D90. No doubt about it although they are both excellent DSLRs.
