Diba ang Waterfront sa Davao was once Insular Hotel? then bought and operated by Waterfront lang sad?Â*
yes....but what i was trying to point out is that it is being operated by Waterfront for YEARS under the same name! Manila Pavillion has just been acquired by Waterfront when? bag-o ra! karon kung naa ka sa Davao when u say Waterfront Hotel...we mean WATERFRONT HOTEL! naa nay pangalan...ang Manila Pavillion under sa waterfront pero diba Manila Pavillion man gihapon ang tawag sa iyaha? naa diay waterfront hotel manila?

When I came here, I was happy to know i'm finally able to trace my roots. Visit the places where my grandparents were born and probably meet my unknown relatives. I was happy to be here. I've had my share of staying in Manila for months too, and I couldn't comapre the Manila peeps from my Cebuano friends who were very warm and genuine and I really enjoy their company, but there is one thing I've noticed about Cebu people and this is a very common thing. I cannot understand why Cebu people wants to pull Davao down. I've heard a lot of things about Davao na makasakit pero I've just ignored it. Pero nagkadugay ko diri murag I realized common jud diay sa mga Cebuano manaut sa Davao and I don't know why, wala ko ga generalize, this is just a mere observation/opinion. I remember, my BF came here in Cebu first and he heard a news over the radio na gibombahan daw ang Claveria which is one of the main streets in downtown Davao, so gitawagan ko nya dayun, but it wasn't true at all!
Davao daw is puno ug terorista, pero kinsa man number one sa peace and order diri sa pilipinas? D ba Davao man? Im just sick of these things, dli lang because people tend to misjudge Davao but Mindanao in general. In the first place, nganu gi consider ang Mindanao as a Land of promise. kung wala ang mindanao sa pilipinas, magutman mo, makulangan mo sa kuryente ug daghan pa. Most of the power sources being enjoyed by most major cities come from Mindanao, I know this as I have a copy of the transmission grid.
Nagpakita lang jud na Pinoy ta. We pull others down para makasaka ta sa taas. If you ask for an opinion from a Davaoeno about Cebu being one of the best islands in the world, we will be happy for you guys, but if you ask a Cebuano to share his thoughts about Davao as one of the most livable cities in Asia, can we expect a positive statement? hell no! it's so unfair. nganu suko man jud mga taga Cebu sa mga taga Davao? this is something I couldn't understand until now.
I'm not expecting sad na sabton akong sentiments as most of the forumers here are taga Cebu sad. What I'm just saying is, We love CEbu and we are proud of what Cebuanos accomplished. Why can't you do the same for your fellow Bisayans from Davao? Why can't you give us a chance?

what are you saying? this is the first time I've read a commentthat Cebuanos pull down Davao... For what reason? Hmmm... For your info bro, Davao's reputation here in Cebu is as fragrant as a sampaguita... Pangutana og taga diri sa Cebu about Davao, and they will answer you: it's a very big city and they even think better economy than Cebu, very clean, strict implementation of rules and laws, and about Davao being in Mindanao, aw ang wa khibaw nga Davao is peaceful maka ingon gyud nga daghag rebals kay naa man gud sa mindanao and we cannot blame people nga mo sulti ana pero as a whole, halos positive tanan ang panglantaw sa Cebuanos towards Davao...

your statement is totally unfounded, sentimental yet inconclusive. the judgment you make of the inappropriate behavior of some is not necessarily the culture of the entire. does your judgment put your cebuano friends, who you found to be warm and genuine guilty of the same offense, if indeed pulling davaoenos down is a common thing among the cebuanos?

the claim can be said in the point of view of a cebuano too. a cebuano might be saying in other venues that davaoenos are pulling cebuanos down. opinions are subjective and can be very biased, it is improper to logically identify personalities in that manner.

you met only a few and not all, and i dare say you have to meet us all to substantiate your claims. we are nice people too and certainly similar to the davaoenos. we share the same culture, beliefs, and even looks despite our aquatic barriers. what we comprehend in writing may not be the actual, say, when we communicate face to face.

lastly, when you pull someone down, the easiest way is to be under and let gravity do the rest. are the cebuanos really down there that they have to pull other regions down just so cebu will be on top?

I'm glad that the Cebuanos who responded here do not belong to the group of people I was referring to. Again, the statement wasn't generalized to all Cebuanos, but most of us who weren't born here feel the same way and I'm just sharing my thoughts. I know a lot of Davao people share my sentiments. It was a mere fact when I said that most of my Cebuano friends are warm and genuine (even compared to my friends back home), I was just expressing my side because I am getting sick of the situation. I love Cebu as diri jud origin namu pero ambot makalagot lang usahay kanang himu himuan ka ug istorya...I'm sorry if the statement bothered some people. Di ba gina salvage man daw mga bata dha, hadluka oi?" or "Davao, di ba Bukid man kaayo na? Highway daw pero daghan sagbut". These are just some of the things I heard from some people, ug makalagot jud sya. Davao or Mindanao has a lot to offer pero nganu ingani man ang treatment na makuha when in fact pareho ra man ta mga Bisaya. I might be paranoid, pero ga express ra man ko. And siguro naman that's what a forum is for diba. Pero I apologize if my statement was somewhat disturbing, naglagot lang jud cguro ko ato na time...

after that incident a case filed immediately & the honorable humble Mayor assisted the victims HIMSELF. He wont disregard any such crimes , regardless of ur race or even ur social stability. kung naka commit ka ug crime, punish should follow. FYI : Davao`s City Mayor`s priority is for " PEACE AND ORDER". I really cant help but laugh on " wala gani ka palag si duterte" SI MAYOR DLI MAKAPALAG?! (sori pero ha ha ha), you should see yourself how he handles his beloved city. very objective ug buh - at man gud kaayo ang imong (should i say ) accusation. tsk tsk . i just dont want to give impressions to the readers especially those who havent been in d city , basi ingnon natural lng ang ur so called crimes happening in d city.

@lakayboy : very well said, i already admire how u replied on ur 1st msg , but after reading all those topics uve replied , i cant help admiring how u reacted on a neutral basis andÂ* makanpante if any1 tries 2 give wrong impression one city 2 d other

like also d ader person hu replied here. i am also a product of both beautiful cities. raised and born n davao and have cebuano ancestral blood. I also agree that maybe it`s really natural instict to "loving our own". and cant help fall inlo love to d place called queen of the south

suma total ang gs2 lng nko ingnon : I BOTH LOVE THE 2 CITIES hehhe
