what i want to know is..since you guys really dissent our Roman Catholic practices, is there any chance that you go out on the street and celebrate the Sinulog with us?..or you'll just stay home and don't mind the celebration
Since you're being such a about it.

We do Sinulog this way - We start drinking on a Friday and don't stop until it's Monday.

But then again that's what we do ALL the time. Oh, and I've got Muslim friends and Christian friends and one dude who claims he's going Buddhist. We don't agree on religion, but we all agree that Red Horse is the best beer ever made by human hands.

Actually, Manny has a great point. Absence of evidence doesn't necesarily mean evidence of absence.

Personally, I don't mind hearing different interpretations about faith and belief. What I DONT like is when someone comes to me and says "AND THIS IS THE ONLY WAY, ALL OTHERS BE DAMNED."

It's called REACTANCE, in social psychology almost NO ONE likes it that way if your freedom is threatened...

But if I told you "these are my beliefs, yours may differ" and I began to share, then if there is an iota of credence given to me; because of that softer approach he may indeed believe that I am The Chosen One.

I would agree to that, we're having the same opinion after all.* It's just that we need to have as much knowledge as possible as to what kind of good deeds God wants.

so like if people don't believe in a christian is there a possibility nga ma save cla....
naa gyud.* even if they don't know about God, but act in harmony with his conscience which by nature can only point to good, and that God sees that he is doing good and pleases Him, why not?* Surely God's justice is perfect.* The problem is, there are things God is not pleased about... like the worship of other false gods, the hurting of others, and the denial of truth.

We have intellects so that it will help us search for the truth.* If we are happy with just what we have known, we are not fully using that gift.* So that's why God acts in the hearts of men through His grace.* He can enter a person in order for that person to search for the truth about God.* That is why in Christianity, the person of Jesus is the ultimate manifestation of grace and love of God for all mankind.* We learn about the truths as God himself in the person of Jesus taught us.* No other religion outside of Christianity has that kind of truth living with them in their midst.

hehehe...i know all about the good deeds you say...maybe I am not so verbal about that good deeds here pero I don't want people to think mangud na I am forcing my own opinion on them...kay some mangud nagtuo cla nga nag give ra cla ug infomation/knowledge regarding there religion and beliefs pero ang pasabot sa uban lahi na kay sayop ang pagkarelay sa message unya medyo forceful naba da pamugos mao na makacreate ug gubot...in my opinion puro naman ta dagko kasabot naman cguro ta unsay right or wrong so there is no need to force your own opinion to other people...peace....

Really bad logic here, Carlo. Have you been to the Antarctic? But it's there, ain't it?

If a guy told me he'd come from antarctica, I would probably believe him. Still won't change the fact that if I ever met a dude who told me he'd been to heaven, I'd think he was nuts.

    Bad, ka ha. Hehehe.

But think about it. Was there actually a time when there walked among us beings who were half-human, half-divine? I mean, read the text following, and you will find that this displeased God so much that he brought about the Great Flood to eliminate all but those that he saw were not tainted by divine blood..

Sounds like some pretty cool sci-fi, X-files stuff was going on back in the day.

The general plan of God is for all to be saved. But man has free will and chose to disobey. The cost of that disobedience was separation.

It is not a wonder why there are so many religions today. Man's creativity, passion, zeal, and desire to be connected to the real God, may have prompted this. Others followed another way, choosing to ignore His existence, perhaps saying, "if God will not reveal himself, why bother". But God did reveal himself, thru Israel, and through Jesus Christ. But many still chose another way.

to the argument that all religions have the same images, symbols and similarities:

Ive been reading some CS Lewis, yeah the guy who made narnia, who is one the great Christian aplogist, and used to be an athiest, he argued that at first glance Jesus might seem like another corn-king, adonis, osiris, cinteotl, the god who dies and rises again, like the pattern of the corn. However, if Jesus was a corn king why would the analogy of seed falling to the ground be so seldom mentioned in the new testament (mr. lewis said it was only twice). And why would a "dying God" occur among the people, the Jews,to whom, almost alone, that the concept of the "dying God" was foriegn. His hypothesis why this is so because a God who dies and rises again, might at once look like the Corn-king, but He is like the Corn-king because the Corn-King is a portrait of Him. For the corn-king is derived (from human imagination) from the facts of nature and the facts of nature from her Creator, God , who is one with Christ. This is becuase Christians are not claiming simply that "God" was incarnate in Jesus. They claim that the one true God, whom the Jews worshipped as Jahweh, the Creator, si he who descended, he who is Jesus.

This is also applicable to all other Nature-Gods, He is Bacchus, Venus, Ceres all rolled into one. The image of the Nature-Gods are a portrait of the one true God.
