who said am not a christian? you assume too much tolstoi.. pataka lang ka yawyaw.. just because i said am not a catholic does not mean am not a christian. I don't need to tell you where i celebrate those festivities, i've got nothing to prove to you..

My belief is my own, deal with it.
@sister Samokan..there's really nothing to fret out on my query, i asked that in good faith.

    to all Catholic dissenters...

what i want to know is..since you guys really dissent our Roman Catholic practices, is there any chance that you go out on the street and celebrate the Sinulog with us?..or you'll just stay home and don't mind the celebration?

    @ ILOVEYOU ...

As a Catholic , that kind of mentality makes one Catholic not knowingly the real meaning of the celebration as an example of your opinion towards SInulog and other celebrations observed by the Catholic Church specially in the Philippines .

Sinulog - people celebrate it with face painting , good food , drinking dancing not knowingly that it is an observance of the Senors' day .

Baranggay Fiesta's - people celebrate it by dancing in diskorals , drinking sprees in the house of the host's not knowing the real essence of that special day of whoever that patron saint they are representing .

Christmas Season - people celebrate it with good food , nice gifts , family reuinion whom some not knowingly the true essence of the season that Jesus was born on earth for peace , love and salvation .

Though nothing is wrong with actions , the true essence and meaning of the celebration were not really observed .

Real Christians aren't necessarily those who know the teachings of Christ - at least that's one very important part of it. Salvation in His name.

But I believe making compassion and caring for the needy a natural trait IS the essence of Christianity.
NOT people who make the signature of the cross to keep away from ghosts, vampires, or mishaps while on public transportation but squirm uncomfortably when someone discusses spirituality anyway.

Christmas Season - people celebrate it with good food , nice gifts , family reuinion whom some not knowingly the true essence of the season that Jesus was born on earth for peace , love and salvation
I really, really like Christmas, gifts and people being unusually nice, and loving.... I've never been partial to the Sinulog though. Lots of drinking, smoking and vile delinquents roaming the streets and women anxious to display their skin to arouse the opposite ***.

I think Christmas has a more godly appearance than Sinulog.

Sinulog is a feast for an Idol... I don't really see it as anything more than a street party and a chance to venerate San Miguel (Corporation)....

actually there are two key festivities during the Sinulog..first is the PROCESION [Fluvial & Solemn], second is the Grand Parade...it's the former that Catholics express solemn veneration on the child Jesus.

now when the Catholic dissenters here admits that they join the festivity [either for the sake of fun or whatever] and then blatantly persecutes the church of its practices..isn't that an absurdity?..or some kinda lip service?
