Guidelines for Rock in Green Photo Contest
The Lens in Calming Chaos
Photographs can affect us so deeply that it has defied the laws of Physics.
Bamkwan Productions would like to invite you to particpate in a photography contest showing natural catastrophes or environmental degradation.
Capture images of the environment that haunt you to awaken the environmental consciousness of people and make them move.
If the true scenario of our environment is not moving people to work for nature, let you and your camera do the working.
So the catch is simple: Let your camera beautifully take nature's destruct. No matter how many they are,
let your photgraphs move people, let your lens capture the calming chaos.
1. This photography contest is open to
ALL amateur and professional photographers
and should depict
anything about the degradation of the environment (ie improper garbage dumping, smoke belching, flooding etc.).
2. Minor digital enhancements to crop are permitted, but photographs
that have been judged to be significantly altered will be disqualified. There should be no markings (names, logo, or any writing) on photo entries.
3. Entries should be taken with any camera using at least 35mm film or digital camera. Suggested dpi for each photo is 300.
4. Registration Fee is One hundred fifty pesos (P150.00).
Registration fee covers the printing of one (8R) photograph.
An additional sixty pesos (P60.00) will be charged for every additional photo.
Participants may submit maximum of three photographs.
5. Soft file copies ( jpeg / gif / png , etc. ) should be submitted at Rock in Green Booth located at
the UP Cebu grounds from March 17-19, 2010. Together with the file are the following:

6. Criteria for judging is as follows:
Relevance to the theme ----- 20%
Technical Excellence ----- 20%
Visual Impact and Creativity ----- 30%
Originality ----- 20%
Online Voting ----- 10%
----- 100%
10. Deadline for the submission of entries will be on Monday, March 19, 2010 5PM.
11. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded on March 26, 2010 at Rock in Green Concert for a Cause. This will coincide with an exhibit of the photo entries.
12. A total of Php15,000 worth of prizes (cash and gift certificates) is at stake!
